Good 37º full moon 1st of March cloudy morning.
Yesterday the snow flakes fell periodically in the morning, but it was 35º so nothing was sticking.
Throw Back Thursday.... The house I grew up in on Stockbridge in El Sereno (Los Angeles 90032) .... This house was built during prohibition.
The owner, prior to my parents, was a US Marshall and he made his booze in the basement! The house had 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. Daddy planted a macadamia nut tree in the front yard and we enjoyed eating those!! We also had an avocado tree in back with 5 varieties grafted onto it, a kumquat tree, a lemon tree, a freestone peach tree and on the parkway there were 2 olive trees. Daddy would pick and can the olives.... green ones with the pit. LOVED those olives! The house had a flat roof and Daddy and I would take watermelon and a couple chairs with us to the roof and on the 4th of July would sit up there and watch the fireworks from the park!
Today was my cat Harley Davidson's birthday. Harley 1991-2013. He was quiet the cat! He wandered to our house in Temple City. Brian took him all around the neighborhood to see if he belonged to anyone. He was a kitten. Nobody claimed him so he became our cat! Jerry named him after his new motorcycle!
He was nosey like Bruiser and climbed up on Kristen's radio car when she stopped by!

Speaking of famous people.... Bobby Sherman...
When Sherman guest-starred on an episode of the Jack Webb television series Emergency! ("Fools", season 3, episode 17, aired January 19, 1974), he found a new calling that focused more on his personal life, and he eventually left the public spotlight and became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He volunteered with the Los Angeles Police Department, working with paramedics, and giving CPR and first aid classes. He officially became a technical Reserve Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department in the 1990s, a position he still holds today. He was later promoted to Captain status in the Los Angeles Police Department. For more than a decade he served as a medical training officer at the Los Angeles Police Academy, instructing thousands of police officers in first aid and CPR. He was named LAPD's Reserve Officer of the Year in 1999.
Sherman also became a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in 1999 with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, continuing his CPR/emergency training of new deputy hires. Sherman retired from the Sheriff's Department in 2010, but continues with the LAPD. According to Sherman, "I've been bestowed a mountain of blessings. I felt a need to start giving back."
Mike came over again yesterday and worked on the riding lawnmower. Been sitting and the tube-less tires were flat. He got them all fixed and mowed the front lawn before we get any more rain or snow!
Dude and Bruiser kept and eye on him!
As soon as he finished mowing and put the mower in the shed, it started raining!! By this morning we got about 2/10ths of an inch. More on the way.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.
