Rain ~ Barn ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Geese ~ Woodpecker ~ Turkey  ~ Olga Duran ~ Lee Taylor ~ Chuck Kuehl ~ Brian's Birthday Dinner

Good 27º somewhat cloudy morning.

Yesterday started out dark cloudy and gloomy. Then the sun came out.... for 5 minutes.
Then it got gloomy again and the rain started at 10:30. It did that all day, on and off, and we got all the way up to 52º. By afternoon we were in the 40ºs. The rain was barely a drizzle and we got 2/10".

I looked out the window and panicked as I thought my barn was on fire!!

Turns out it was my neighbor Gerard who was burning tree trimmings down by my gate, on his property! WHEW!

Happy Throw Back Thursday...
Me at age 2 with my 6'6" brother-in-law Joe Mueller:

... and at 3 with my sister Marion Plumbridge:

My geese, not the ones sitting on the barn roof, who are shy....
came back and were on the ground out in front. I took them some cracked corn and they were happy. The male eats a bit first and then stands back and lets the female eat all she wants.

Mr. Woodpecker was also enjoying some cracked corn in the bird feeder...

Later a turkey figured out how to get cracked corn out of the bird feeder too!

Three special birthdays today...
Pal Olga Duran, wife of the infamous Jimmy (Lt. LASD)...

This picture is another Throw Back Thursday photo... taken here when they visited not long after we moved here. Michael was so young and James is now a Deputy!
In the above photo James on the right and Michael on the left. In this one (at James' wedding) James on the left and Michael on the right!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY O! xoxo

and...... it's a birthday for Lee "Tiffany" Taylor (LASD ret). HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIFFANY! (the nickname Jerry gave him!)

and..... it's a birthday celebration for Chuck Kuehl (son of my pals Patty and Cliff) HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!
