President's Day ~ Hail/Snow ~ Bruiser ~ Photo of the Day ~ Chicken Piccata ~ Miss Bonnie & Laurie in India ~ 7Up ~ Chocolate Mint Day

Good 30º it snowed last night morning.

President's Day

Since 1968, it is observed on the third Monday in February
President's Day is a day set aside to honor all of the U.S. presidents. We often think of two great presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln when we celebrate this holiday, as it falls by design between their birthdays. More and more of us, look at this day as a tribute to each and every person who has ever served in the office f the President of the United States of America. It is a national holiday,. While Federal employees, the post office, and banks have the day off, most businesses and industry do not recognize it as a paid holiday.

Yesterday morning, about 10:30 I looked out and it was snowing! Well, it was 41º and it was hail or teeny tiny snow! Didn't stick.
There was some on the doormat and on Bruiser!

Bruiser went out and hunkered down waiting for birds to come to the bird feeder! No luck! LOL.

Then at 2pm it was 37º and started snowing for real.
It only lasted 12 minutes! The sun came out and it warmed to 45º.

Then last night it snowed about 1/2". It didn't stick everywhere, mostly on the grass and fence posts!

My friend Miss Bonnie and her daughter Laurie are in India on a trip and here they are in a wildlife park and they rode in this camel cart!

And at the Taj Mahal...

This is interesting about 7up ....

Initially the name of the drink was much more complicated - "Bib-label Lithiated Lemon Lime Soda". There are several versions of the origin of the drink's modern name:
1)First 7up bottles were 7 ounces in volume
2)initially the drink consisted of 7 ingredients
3)Lithium was on the drink's ingredients, and its atomic mass is 7.
For a long time in US lithium had been considered as an excellent cure for depression. Manufacturers stopped using the dangerous ingredient only in 1950.

Dinner was steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots and a piece of chicken. Then chair, wine, and TV ... some Olympics, NCIS New Orleans and Rookie Blue.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy President's Day Monday. Ciao.
