1951 – Kirstie Alley, American actress

I went to the post office to mail a package. The girl at the counter said postage is going up about the 21st of this month by 1¢, which will make it 50¢. She made a comment about how costly it's becoming. I laughed and said, "I remember when postage was 3¢." The clerk next to her looked at me like I was crazy! I laughed again, and said, "Yes, I know, I'm old!"

The postage rate went from 2¢ to 3¢ in 1932

until it was changed to 4¢ in 1958.

Dinner was "clean out the freezer" night. I had some cooked angel hair pasta, peas, and flaked crab flavored seafood.... Thawed out the frozen part and put in the skillet with the clam sauce .... heated through. OMGOOOOOOD!!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Curried Chicken Day

It’s Curried Chicken Day! Curried chicken is a popular dish in Asia, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean. The word "curry" is an anglicized version of the Tamil word “kari,” which means “stir-fried.”
While we usually associate curried chicken with a hot Indian dish served over rice, there are many other recipes that call for both key ingredients. Did you know that in England, curried chicken salad is called Coronation Chicken? Constance Spry and Rosemary Hume created the dish for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation banquet in 1953. It has been a popular sandwich filling ever since.
Enjoy Curried Chicken Day by cooking up your favorite curried chicken recipe!
