Good 45º raining morning.
Yesterday was pretty gloomy.... and by afternoon we got a taste of sun. Then it hid behind the clouds and then reappeared again, over and over!
In the morning, when I was feeding Dude his breakfast, I looked out and here were two very young dogs, a white bulldog and a German shepherd coming up my drive. The white dog looked like this...
They came up to the fence by the front yard and Dude needed to
go out. They panicked and ran back the way they came. They were soooooooo
darling and I am still worried they are ok and got back to their home. I HATE
people who don't take care of their animals!!!!! Then a bit later there was a
post on the Rogue River FB page about these two dogs wandering around in town
today and yesterday. Sigh..............
On Thanksgiving Day morning Brian, Jen, Sami, and Tucker
participated in the YMCA's Annual Turkey Trot...
Brian.... he won a prize for his costume!
Sami & Jen: (love Sami's turkey hat!)
Tucker, Sami, and their friend Kama (Hawaiian):
On Friday they all took the pumpkins, Jean and Marie too, and went to Wildlife Images to give the pumpkins to the bears, who apparently love them! I am still waiting for pictures!

Sadly his wife took an overdose of pills after leaving him a loving note
but said she couldn't go on any longer. Apparently she suffered from horrible
migraine headaches.
Here is a good recipe, shared by Tom McNeil (LASD Commander
ret and passed away in 2007. He shared this with me in 2001)... Since a lot of
you have leftover turkey and ham, this makes a great spread on the bread you
make your sandwiches from...
Roquefort Butter Spread
1/4 pound Roquefort or blue cheese
1/4 pound unsalted butter
1/4 cup white wine or sherry
Cayenne pepper
Allow butter to soften at room temperature. Blend all
ingredients with a dash of cayenne. Keep in the butter keeper in the fridge so
it stays spreadable.
Also good with crackers, celery, and toasted
bagels!
Last night the sunset was interesting!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

November 26, 2017 is
National Cake Day
It’s National Cake Day! On this day, we celebrate one of the world’s
favorite desserts—cake. The cake we know and love today evolved from early
leavened breads, which were sweetened with honey, fruit, and nuts. Did you know
that the word “cake” comes from the Old Norse word, “kaka,” meaning a baked
flour confection?
Whether you prefer vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, or even the
pineapple-upside-down variety, grab a slice of your favorite cake to celebrate
this delicious day! Happy National Cake Day!
