Since it's Pumpkin Day....
Friend Charline Aubin (1939-1999) gave me this recipe in
1994...
Stuffed Pumpkin
Select a small firm dark skinned pumpkin. Cut the top as
though you were preparing a Halloween pumpkin. Keep the top.
Clean out the seeds and excess membrane. Salt well and set
aside.
Stuffing:
(depends on the size of the cavity)
Ground beef, sufficient to fill cavity
Onions, chopped (1 per pound of meat)
Salt, pepper, sage, bay leaf, basil, celery salt, &
garlic.
Brown beef and onions with seasonings. Drain excess fat. Rinse
pumpkin cavity, dry, and lightly salt.
Fill with beef mixture and replace top.
Place in shallow baking dish, like a pie pan, and fill 1/2
full of water. Bake low and slow... 250º - 300º until you can press easily into
pumpkin.
Serve whole pumpkin, scooping out stuffing along with the
cooked pumpkin. Best served with potatoes and salad.
OMGOSH, this is really good!!!!!
Later it was World Series game 2. WOW!!!!! What a game! Kept everyone on
the edge of their seats! 11 innings later, and sadly the Astros beat the
Dodgers... :O(
World
SeriesSeries
tied 1-1
Game
2 of 7 · Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles
Ok, onto game 3! Go Dodgers!!!
There were a number of celebs in the stands last night... Vin Scully was
there, Peyton Manning
... sitting with Astros owner,
Tiger Woods, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Brad Paisley (sang the
National Anthem), John Legend, Mark Wahlberg, Aaron Rogers, Oscar de la Hoya,
and several others.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

October 26, 2017 is
National Pumpkin Day
It’s National Pumpkin Day! Pumpkins are the harbinger of the harvest
season, appearing every year as the first sign of autumn. Did you know that
there are over 45 different varieties of pumpkin? They range in color from
white, to red, to even blue!
Pumpkins can be grown on every continent except Antarctica, and the
United States produces about 1.5 billion pounds of them each year. A Wisconsin
farmer grew the largest pumpkin ever recorded. He used seaweed, cow manure, and
fish emulsion to grow his pumpkin, which weighed a total of 1,810 pounds and was
the size of a dumpster!
Celebrate National Pumpkin Day by carving a pumpkin in time for
Halloween. Don't forget to bake
the pumpkin seeds for a healthy, autumn
snack!
