Lightening ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Dude X-ray ~ White House ~ Jetboat Ride Video ~ Scotch Day

Good 57º clear sunny morning.

Yesterday we topped out at 95º and the clouds hung out most of the day. To the east of us there were more lightening strikes. Over a hundred in half and hour. Lightening in the Klamath Falls area:

Happy Throw Back Thursday...... this, I'm guessing, was about 1962 when Daddy poured the cement and made the patio. He was wearing his slacks, not work pants, and his hat....

So, yesterday I took Dude to the vets for his X-ray. He had to be sedated so no breakfast. Not happy. I picked him up after 3pm. Doc showed me his x-ray (this not his but similar)

Dude has a mild hip displacia with his left hip. The round bone that goes into the socket is slightly un-round. He was born that way. Doc said it wasn't going to get any worse. He will now be taking a morning pill for joint flexibility and an evening pill of Glucosamine for joint support for the next couple months. We are to keep his activity minimum for a few weeks. That means no running with me in the golf cart!

When I picked up my mail there was this letter from the White House..

I had sent President Trump a birthday card and note, telling him that my friends and family and I were behind him 100%.

I used to send President Bush birthday cards too and he always wrote me a note back too.

Here are 2 very short (7 seconds and 11 seconds) videos of our jetboat ride when Jack was here. They were taken by the man sitting in front of us. Funny guy. Really nice. From California!
Brian had said to bring a towel.... yep, good idea!
For dinner I made a new casserole with artichoke bottoms, spinach, cream cheese, Parmesan. Then I air fried an Omaha Steaks Sole Almondine.

I will share the casserole recipe later.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

July 27th
National Scotch Day

Ok, are we celebrating my heritage? or the distilled spirits from Scotland? Guess it could be all things Scottish, though it's most likely the latter. I like Scotch, Scotch Tape, Scottish Eggs, and Scotsmen ... especially Sean Connery
! It's that brogue. Mmmmm.... and kilts! And bagpipes! Yes. It's in my blood!

In regards to the distilled Scotch (which in any case many Scotsmen contain Scotch) here are a number of legal requirements in Britain that must be met in order for Scotch whisky to be called 'Scotch.' It must be made in Scotland, for starters. And don't ever spell it 'whiskey.' Here in America, we salute those tradition-bound Scottish distillers by recognizing National Scotch Day! Are you on the rocks or neat?
