Good 56º scattered cloudy morning. Yesterday we topped out at
94º.
HAPPY 4th of JULY!!
I liked this video.... the Budweiser Clydesdales in a 4th of
July parade in Wyoming....
Yesterday I made some "pasta" salad... Trish's made me hungry,
so went with what I had in the cupboard and fridge....
Salad macaroni, olives, artichoke heart bottoms, peas, celery, tomatoes,
and some mixed steamed vegetables....
The dressing was one of my favs, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Lawry's
Garlic Salt. After making the dressing I mixed it in along with some Parmesan.
OH YUMMMMM!!!
Then while I ate a small bowl of the salad, I watched Andrew Zimmern's
Bizarre Eats. He followed the Lewis & Clark adventure along the Columbia
River to the Oregon coast.
He met with some people of the Chinook Indian Tribe and sampled their
foods.
At the coast he met up with a couple chefs who go after Pacific lampreys
and barnacles, and goes with a sea salt harvester to see how it's done.
He and the chefs went through the tunnel at Maxwell Point (didn't know
about that!!! Know about Maxwell California, but not Maxwell Point Oregon!)
Amazing stories. The Indians have restored the salmon to the Columbia River
after several dams were built. Big industry up here! Such gooooood salmon too!
There is Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, and Chum Salmon.
