Good 48º overcast gloomy morning! WHERE IS THE SUN???????? Now
after finally getting sun and blue sky we are in line for more "chance of rain"
starting towards the end of this week. DANG!
I put the 'thing' about Just Veggies on the blog yesterday.
For breakfast I had some hard boiled eggs, plain non-fat yogurt, and a
Stroopwafel.
The first Stroopwaffel I had was on the flight home from Hawaii. OMGOOOD!!
I ordered some from Amazon.
Also, the Just Veggies I sprinkled on my yogurt. Also, OMGOOOD!!!
As for the eggs, I tried a new technique... into the cold water I put salt,
vinegar (about 1/3 cup), and some baking soda (a couple spoonfuls) ... then the
eggs and brought them to a boil and boiled for 10 minutes. Let sit for another
10 minutes and then drained and added cold water and lots of ice cubes. I have
used either salt or vinegar or both before but never the baking soda!
Wow!!
These were the easiest peeling eggs I have ever cooked!!!!!! Each one
peeled perfect!

National Raisin Day
- In 1873, a freak hot spell withered the grapes on the vine. One enterprising San Francisco grocer advertised these shriveled grapes as “Peruvian Delicacies” and the rest is history.
- It takes more than 4 tons of grapes to produce 1 ton of raisins.
- The finest raisins come from Malaga in Spain.
- Raisin – comes from the Latin racemus and means “a cluster of grapes or berries”.
- Fresno, California is the Raisin Capital of the World.
