Good 47º cloudy morning.
Yesterday we stayed cloudy most all day with a slight warm up in the high
60ºs.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Dpartment has a new publication for current sworn members and it's going to
be electronic after the first 2 printed editions. I went to the site and there
was this photo of the HOJ (Hall of Justice). It had a bunch of writing across
the photo and I got it pretty well cleaned off and now this photo is my "desktop
background"....
The Hall of Justice (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_of_Justice )
was our department's headquarters and in the top floors was the jail. That was Jerry's first unit of assignment as well as Kristen's. Here is an
interesting read, if you worked there and photos (unfortunately it also has
Sheriff Caca's photo!)
Today I mail all the post cards to President Trump!
Yesterday I had a project... Bruiser got way up on top of a shelving unit I have and knocked off a bunch of stuff... I have so much "junk"... and am working hard at getting rid of it. A big pile goes to the local Senior Center shop where it will be sold.
Here is how I make my corned beef and cabbage... which I will probably cook on Saturday....
Don't use that
packet of spices included with the corned beef, they aren't needed.
Place corned beef in Crock*Pot. Rub the
brown sugar on the entire corned beef, including the bottom. Gently pour the
beer around and gently over the beef to wet the sugar. Cook on low for 8-9
hours.
You can add in the
cabbage/potatoes/carrots with the brisket about an hour before it's finished
cooking or cook separately.
Today was my Maggie's birthday 1999. She passed away on 8-23-2013.
She wasn't Irish but pretended just for
one day a year. She was Scottish, a McNab, named for the man who bred these
dogs.. Generally McNabs are black and white and "occasionally red and white"...
being a "red head" and Scottish I named her Maggie after my red headed Scottish
mother, Margaret.
Historically this date...

Last night's cocktail was a "Dirty Sue" Martini... on the rocks with Mediterranean Olives. OH YUM!!!
These olives I get at Costco. They are sooooooooooo good and I just like eating them out of the jar!!!
Later dinner was the other stuffed sole with yellow bell pepper and celery
tossed with olive oil and garlic salt and cooked in the air fryer. A dollop of
spicy mayonnaise was served with the sole....
All of Tabasco's products can be purchased on line at http://www.tabasco.com/ They have so many
yummy things ... cheese-its Tabasco flavored, Tabasco popcorn, and many
condiments... also kitchen tools (I have a Tabasco spoon rest) and apparel, and
