Good 26º it's all frozen again morning!
Yesterday the geese came back and noisy as ever. The matriarch
and patriarch (the two original geese that showed up a few years ago) sit atop
the barn roof and honk until I come out and give them some cracked corn.
They show up here every year at this time, prior to mating and
nesting. They build their nests up on the neighbor's property in his trees. Now
they have some of their "children" with them... there were 7 of them total
yesterday morning.
I always say, "good morning goosie goose" and they respond by waddling down
to the fence to meet me!
Yesterday was haircut day and then to Safeway for groceries.
My pal Karen "Sugar Bear" (Baertschiger) had her hair appointment right after
mine so we had a chance to visit a bit.

Or.... use a can of diced jalapeños, well
drained....
1. Mix buttermilk, eggs, and oil.
2. Mix in cornmeal, flour, baking powder, soda, and salt in
large bowl.
3. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet and then mix in the
jalapeño peppers.
4. Pour the mix into a greased loaf pan and bake in preheated
oven, 375º, for 30-40 minutes until toothpick or sharp thin knife inserted in

If you make chili beans... this is an AWESOME go with!!!
