Good 45º raining morning.
OMGOSH, one month til Christmas!!! Best hop to it.
Wednesday my car was ready for pick up. YEAH! That little compact was just
too small. I am a happy camper to have the big guy back! They had to replace
seals, bearings, drive belt, and gaskets. All under warranty. Good thing!
Then I went to the post office to pick up a package. In it were the Mauna
Loa Macadamia Nuts I ordered from Amazon...
OMGOSH I love these!!!! OINK. I ordered them from Amazon but they were
shipped directly from Hawaii. And when "nuts" are mentioned, Brian always says,
"Awwwwww nuts!" :o)
Thanksgiving dinner yesterday was at The Vine. Dustin and his wife Ashley
put on quite the spread!
^Ashley on the far left in the doorway
^Chef Dustin
^Tucker in the buffet line
^Family and friends
^Sami the "olive connoisseur"
^Awesomely good food: turkey, ham, red potatoes, yam casserole, stuffing,
and mashed potatoes with gravy. YUMMMM!
I made some of Mom's Biscuits and took them to dinner... just fyi:
Baked them at 350º 35 minutes. With my altitude here it takes a bit longer.
I'm at 1200' and it does affect cooking times. I am going to experiment with
these by slitting open each roll and adding some Parmesan cheese and maybe
something else... we'll see. I have done that before and cooked the biscuits in
the waffle iron. They come out crispy on the outside and soft cheesy on the
inside.
Earlier in the day these guys were prancing around my yard, feeling good I
imagine, none of them were being roasted and served!

leftovers...
^Nacho Turkey Casserole. Looks yummm.. My signature after Thanksgiving dish
was turkey soup. Everyone loved it! Boiled the bones to make the stock, added
in lots of turkey and everything else I could find!
Watched the National Dog Show when I came home. The Greyhound,
Gia, won. I was cheering for her. What a dog!!

November 25h
Today is National Parfait
Day.
A parfait consists of layers of ice cream, whipped cream, and any
combination of syrups and fruits. Yes, it's basically a fancy word for a
sundae. And, it's usually served in a fancy glass.
Celebrate this day by eating Parfaits. While chocolate is by far the
favorite, use your imagination to create a wide range of single and mixed
flavors.
Savor your favorite flavor of parfait, as you enjoy National Parfait
Day.

Glad you had a wonderful time and the food looked amazing. I am not understanding what The Vine did for the dinner. Was it open to the public or did they just invite family and friends? Was there a charge? Great way to celebrate. No cooking! :) Were your rolls a hit?
Love that your turkeys are parading around your yard confident that you wouldn't be serving one of them. They sure do look big and healthy.
Brought home lots of leftovers but not a whole lot of turkey. (Enough for my post Thanksgiving turkey sandwich for today. :) I will christian my new kitchen tonight by cooking up some chicken breasts to go with all the sides I brought home. :)

Dustin and his Ashley just wanted to serve Thanksgiving dinner to friends and family. Dustin and Brian are very close, so we were invited. A couple others who are regulars at his restaurant were invited. It was closed to the public.
I cannot imagine killing a turkey and then having to pluck it! UGH!!! Thank you Mrs. Butterball!!!
xo
Happy Day After the Feast! No turkey sandwiches here this year- but maybe Sunday on my way home from church I'll pick up a fresh breast to use with a recipe from Williamsburg. My favorite turkey sandwhich uses cream cheese and fresh whole cranberry sauce piled between 2 good slices of bread.
Going up on the roof to clear the gutters. I'm such a girlie-girl-not.
Turkey sandwich, L, sounds WONDERFUL!! Be careful on that ladder!!! xo
