Good 44º clear sunny morning.
The sun came out yesterday and it was beautiful. We warmed to 87º. Warmer
today..............
Breakfast was 2 eggs cooked with butter spray, lots of cheese, in the micro
and the rest of that awesome cantaloupe. Going to have to get another of those
melons!!
Yesterday I ran some errands and took Dude. He was a happy camper. He sits
in the very back of my truck and watches out the back window. (In this picture
he just climbed up in the back when I was unloading stuff!)
I have learned if I park facing away from the store I'm going into, he will
stay in the back and watch for me, but if I park facing the store then he ends
up in the front seat, shedding hair, and nose "kanji" on the windows! (*kanji is
Asian writing symbols, which his nose marks look like!!) ... so, market, post
office, pharmacy, home.
Today is a
special anniversary, two great folks Gracie and Jack Elliott. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
KIDS!!! Wish I had a photo of you two. (Jack LASD ret and Gracie LASD SR

Today was my
grandmother's birthday. Her name was Isabelle Dunbar Mills. She was born in
Glasgow Scotland in 1872. We called her 'Nanno'. She was fun, so nice, a great
cook (oh those shortbread bars!!! and Scotch Cherry Cake!). I think she's the
only person in the family who ended up shorter than me! She passed away in 1964.
Here she is in 1958 with me, my older sister's daughter MaryAnn, Marion's son
Andy, and older sister's Nancy.

Later dinner was "eggplant pizza". I thawed and cooked some sausage...
OMGOSH, this Jimmy Dean Maple sausage is sooooooooooooooooooo good!!!!! I
could just eat it plain right out of the pan!!
Next was adding the marinara sauce to the sausage...
I had sliced the eggplant, laid the slices on paper towels, sprinkled with
Kosher salt, and let sit for about 20+ minutes. Turned them over and let them
drain. Pat dry, put on cooking sheet and drizzled with olive oil an added Tuscan
Seasonings, bake at 400º about 15-20 minutes.
Turn them over and added the sausage/marinara, some two cheese blend, and
some Parmesan. A couple slices I only added cheese. Back in the oven 3-5 minutes
to melt cheese and heat sauce well...
If you like eggplant, this is YUMMMMMM!!! A fav of mine for many years!!!!
Then it was phone chat with pal, wine, TV, chair....
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

Good blog! Lots of interesting stuff.
Oh yummy egg plant! What an interesting way to cook them. Maybe I will buy some, slice, dip in egg and cornmeal and fry in the air fryer.
Our Assembly woman Ling Ling Chang recently met with Mark Hamil to discuss his concern and about bringing a bill to the floor about counterfeit memorabilia.
Heather Locklear is a FB friend of mine but haven't seen her post anything for a very long time.
Did your grandma has a Scottish brogue or did she come here at an early age?
XO Trisha
Eggplant would be great that way too, Trish! I read about Hamil and the fake autographed things that are going around. My grandmother didn't have an accent that I recall. My grandfather came from Edinburgh and he probably did have a brogue, but he died before I was born. :0( xo
This year hasn't been good for everything, but it certainly has been good for enjoying melon.
The eggplant looks good. Real good.
I remember when Heather Locklear was doing the "Drink milk" spots. Gerry suddenly had a desire to keep milk on the table.
Kenny likes to go lobstering during the season. Says when it is that fresh, it is incredible.
