Good 51º clear sunny morning. We hit 100º yesterday.
Breakfast.. leftover cooked yam and some stuffed mushrooms (I get these 'pre-stuffed' at Safeway) I heated. Topped
the yams with sriracha mayonnaise and had celery to go with. YUMMMMMMM!
It's great to be back with my desktop. While I was "off line"
I had received my Omaha Steaks order.. Got the Breast of Chicken. It comes like
this one with wild rice:
Also Chicken Cordon Bleu (stuffing is deli ham and Swiss
cheese), with Broccoli & Cheese, and Chicken Kiev (stuffed with butter and
coated with egg and bread crumbs).
Also in that order was Caramel Apple Tartlets:
...and Chicken in Pastry
...and Stuffed Sole with Scallops and Crabmeat
Went into town for some errands. As I was approaching the grammar school, a
tree service had half the street blocked off with flaggers and "Slow" and "Stop"
signs. I stopped and the guy behind me, obviously in too much of a hurry to
stop, went around me and turned on a side street. No patience? Well, then I got
the "Slow" sign and headed into town. As I passed by on Main Street the "no
patience" guy was just arriving at the stop sign by Ace. LOL. I beat him!
Here's a funny I got from pal Gator....
Lee Trevino: Why I Mow My Own Yard (a true story)
One day, shortly after joining the PGA Tour in 1965, Lee Trevino, a
professional golfer and married man was at his home in Dallas Texas mowing his
front lawn as he always did.
A lady driving by in a shiny Cadillac, stopped in front of his house,
lowered the window, and asked, "Excuse me, do you speak English?"
Lee responded, "Yes Ma'am, I do." The lady then asked, "What do you charge
to do yard work?"
Lee said, "Well, the woman in this house lets me sleep with her."
The lady hurriedly put the car into gear and sped off.
What a GREAT use for duct tape:
While I was not doing my blog there were several birthdays... My friend
Patty K turned 83 years young on the 19th, LASD ret Lynda Castro celebrated her
special day on the 21st, and Patty's hubby Cliff turned 85 on the 23rd. HAPPY
BIRTHDAY TO ALL!!!! oxox
Historically this date
1883 – The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa begins its final, paroxysmal, stage.
1920 – The 19th amendment to United States Constitution takes effect, giving women the right to vote.
1942 – Holocaust in Chortkiav, western Ukraine: At 2.30 am the German Schutzpolizei starts driving Jewsout of their houses, divides them into groups of 120, packs them in freight cars and deports 2000 to Belzecdeath camp. 500 of the sick and children are murdered on the spot
...............so horrible and disgusting. Too bad a Jewish man/woman didn't' get the chance to terrorize, brutalize and slowly kill Hitler!
1970 – The then new feminist movement, led by Betty Friedan, leads a nation-wide Women's Strike for Equality.
And births this date include...
1864 - my paternal grandmother, Emma Laney
........sadly I never got to meet her...
1980 – Macaulay Culkin, American actor
.........can you say 'drugs' !!!
Later for dinner I cooked one of the Omaha stuffed chicken breasts, setting
it atop some cut up bell peppers in the Air Fryer and some veggie cakes.
This was the broccoli cheese stuffed chicken. SUPER good!!!

National Dog Day
National Dog Day has two goals: to honor dogs, and to rescue dogs from
homelessness and abuse. It's an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate
the value and importance of dogs in our lives.
This day is intended to honor dogs for all that they do for us. In addition
to giving love and companionship, dogs help us out in countless ways. They are
watchdogs for our safety. They lead the blind. Dogs aid in search and rescue,
and they seek out bombs and drugs.
The second goal of National Dog Day is to rescue dogs in need. On occasion,
dogs need us to save them from homelessness and abuse. The goal of the National
Dog Day foundation is to rescue 10,000 dogs a year. Lend a hand to help a dog in
need today, or any day.

Thank you L!!! oxoxox You have lucky dogs too!!!
I guess today we will have a "Dog Day Afternoon"? Nice. :)
I love the idea of your air fryer. I clicked on the Ad for it. I would love it but don't have a spot to store it on the counter or under the counter. I keep my Foreman Grill on the counter and don't use it often but I did last night. Grilled four steaks. They really get dried out that way put I spray the gills with Pam then put butter on each steak when it's finished. I guess it's healthier than frying. God forbid I ask John to go out and grill them on the big BBQ. He doesn't like doing that. :(
Love all those Omaha chicken items. Haven't tried the chicken in the bread bowl yet but I will soon.
Oh and welcome back! We missed you! Every morning I felt like something was missing. :)
I posted the Lee Trevino joke on my FB page. Funny!
