Errands ~ Car Wash ~ PJ's Birthday ~ Crisis of Character ~ Artichoke ~ Wedding Bells

Good 51º clear sunny morning.

Yesterday by 3pm it was breezy, some clouds, and the weather station said pressure was dropping with a possibility of rain. It was 90º at that time. Of course we didn't get any rain!

I had errands to do yesterday... pick up dog meds at Vet, get cracked corn at Ace, deposit $ at bank, pick up package at PO, and get a blood draw at the lab in GP. Stopped to visit with Brian at his office. Then to the hospital to meet up with Dracula (Jan) who sucked out some blood. Saw Dee's car at Cary's so I stopped to visit. She's been working full time as someone there is on vacation. We'll get together soon for lunch.
She gave me a little cup of ice cream with Cary's chocolate & something else crushed and on top. OMGOOOOOOD.

Then to the drive-through car wash.....

All shiny and sparkly now and no cat paw prints all over!!!
Home. Ahhhh......

Ok, yesterday the brain wasn't working and it was my pal PJ's birthday. I am 1D10T. I called and she wasn't answering, but drove by and her car was there. Knocked on the door a couple of times, no answer..... so dropped her card and gift certificate through the slightly open window of her car. Here is PJ and I a couple years ago celebrating her special day...
You notice all the glasses. The other "girls" pushed theirs all in front of us! That's why we were laughing!

Got a new book to read...
Should be interesting!  Jerry had a friend who was Secret Service who was her "bodyguard" when Bill first became President. He related how crazy, foul- mouthed, and assinine she was. After she threw a heavy crystal ashtray at him he asked to be reassigned as he didn't want to lay down his life for hers!

Dinner last night was an artichoke. Cut off the stem (cook that too) and wash well under running water, spreading the leaves. Then into the pot of water, drizzled olive oil down through the leaves and sprinkled Lawry's Garlic Salt on top.... Bring to boil and cook 45-60 minutes (depending on size). I always lay a wooden spoon across the top so it doesn't boil over.

Dipping sauce was OPA Greek Yogurt with feta and mayonnaise...

OMGOOOD!!!

Chair, wine, and TV. Watched a cute Hallmark movie, Wedding Bells.

Goood morning. Thank you for the wooden spoon reminder- the artichoke are cooking now. No reason they can't be brunch.

Good bicotti is a treat from heaven. It would be so nice to put my feet up and dip in the coffee right now.

I havent' grown anise in forever. It does well here when allowed to grow nearly wild.

oh mmmmmmmm You girls and your artichokes! I am so jealous! See? You made a whole one you dinner. We have one between all of us as a side dish. When John goes to Costco again I will have him look for them in the bag.

WOW Walmart opened in 1962! A year before I got married! Look how they have grown since then! Yup! Good ol Arkie guy, Sam Walton. My uncle knew him. He used to drive around in a rather old pick up truck with his big dog in the back. His wife drove a rather old Oldsmobile. I met a guy up at our Holiday Inn who was out here on business. He used to be the Walton's car mechanic. Said he wouldn't buy his wife a new car and kept having this guy fix it. :)They certainly didn't live high on the hog!

That was a funny photo with you gal sitting in front of all the glasses.

Right now baby sitting my two babies Isabella and Ian. :)

T, I could never understand "sharing" and artichoke. From the time I was a small child we each had our own artichoke. OINK. Walton sounded interesting.

Have fun babysitting! xoxo

I forgot to mention that I have ordered that book too. I will read it on the plane flying to Cleveland and also in down time there. How appropriate is that! :)

XO Trisha

p.s. My family wouldn't know how to act if they got a whole artichoke all to themselves. :)
