Zac Hannan ~ Hidden Menu Items ~ Mr. Buck ~ Pals Photos ~ Artichoke & Corn on the Cob ~ Blue Bloods Rant ~ Peanut Butter Cookies

Good 47º clear sunny morning.

My pal Mike Hannan's grandson Zac was in the Grants Pass Courier for Athlete of the Week:

Spectacular!

Ok, more hidden menu items...
KFC has a "Hot Pocket Bowl". This dish comes packed with a pocket of dough, chicken, cheese, gravy, and corn. You may need a wheelchair to depart the restaurant after eating this! I have to get one of these!!!

And of course there is In-N-Out's Animal Style. When you go full animal you get cheese, grilled onions, and secret sauce (close to Russian dressing). It doesn't stop at the fries either, make sure you order the double-double animal style.

Yesterday was fill the water tubs for the critters, vacuum, and go through "stuff" and get rid of more! Then I hooked up my printer to the new computer, printed out my quarterly state tax form, made a birthday card.

Up on the hill in the shade was Mr. Buck taking a rest...

I was emailing with my pal Erika and we chatted about Kathy's pups and so I sent her a picture of she and I with one of Kathy's dogs a number of years back.

Then I though to post this on my blog. It's a framed photo of a bunch of my pals that I keep over my computer...
All these faces make me smile!

Another of those super good margaritas for cocktail time while watching the news....

Dinner was artichoke and corn on the cob (since yesterday was corn on the cob day). I made a mixture of mayonnaise, sriracha mayo, and garlic salt as a dip for the choke and a slather on the corn..

Chair, wine, Blue Bloods. I love that show, but there are two characters I can't stand... one is Len Cariou who plays Selleck's dad. He's creepy and those BIG false teeth! ICK.

Also, Briget Moynahan (formerly the girlfriend and the mom of Tom Brady's child) acts like she probably is in real life ... a super beeeeotch!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

National Peanut Butter Cookie Day

Today is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day! The Aztecs invented peanut butter in the 14th century, by mashing roasted peanuts and making a paste,  but peanut butter cookies didn’t become an American favorite until the early 1900s. In 1916, George Washington Carver began promoting the peanut and its many uses. As part of the campaign, he published three peanut butter cookie recipes in a research bulletin entitled, “How to Grow the Peanut and 105 Ways of Preparing it for Human Consumption.”

In 1932, the Schenectady Gazette published the first peanut butter cookie recipe that called for crisscrossed fork marks on the top. Today, a peanut butter cookie just wouldn't be quite right without this iconic decoration!

To celebrate National Peanut Butter Cookie Day, dig out Grandma’s famous recipe and make a batch of delicious homemade peanut butter cookies for your family!

Here is a great recipe... only 3 ingredients!

Good morning. What ah honor to be in your friends collage.

History shall be kind to the presidency of the Sr. President Bush. A throughly decent man, who put others first, and absolutely competent. I sense we are beginning to appreciate those qualities in leadership when they are wrapped up at the top.

Impeccable timing. It's a great day for something as comforting as peanut butter cookies. Instead of dipping fork in just sugar for the hash mark on top- I use cinnamon sugar.

A blessed Sabbath to you and yours.
