Good 52º cloudy morning. Rain was predicted but I doubt if we will see any.
Breakfast was low fat cottage cheese topped with fruit (cantaloupe,
pineapple, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, raspberries)
Yesterday I did more stuff with the new computer, installing all the
programs I like... American Greeting Card Factory, Malwarebytes, Dynamic Auto
Painter, Smilebox, Hallmark Card Studio, Webshots, AOL, Adobe Photoshop, and a
couple others. Thanks for some expert advice from my son Brian, I solved the
problem of too small icons and text. Now I can see the text!!!
The clouds started gathering early... pretty!
3pm we had some heavy weight clouds:
Stayed comfy all day and never got above 77º!
Also, thanks to Ron Weiseberger (LASD ret) I found this out..
Two birthdays today..... Jim Harper's pup Rufus is 10 years old. HAPPY
BIRTHDAY RUFIE!
And Gar Austin (LASD ret) is celebrating. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAR!!!
Historically this date...
1854 – The first class of
the United States Naval Academy students
graduate.
1935 – Dr. Robert Smith takes his last drink,
and Alcoholics Anonymous is founded in Akron, Ohio, United States, by him and Bill Wilson.
1977 – James Earl Ray escapes from Brushy Mountain State Prison in Petros, Tennessee, but is recaptured on June 13.
And births this date include....
1895 – Hattie McDaniel, American actress (d. 1952)
1922 – Judy Garland, American musical actress (d. 1969)
1933 – F. Lee Bailey, American attorney
..... yes, mr. wonderful OJ's attny.... who was put in jail for
deceiving the government and later disbarred. mr. nice guy. And, doesn't his
first initial and middle name mean "flee"!
1953 – John Edwards, American politician and lawyer
You have to watch this. These men found a newborn fawn in the
middle of the road. Good ending!!! 2 minutes...
Dinner was some pork/jalapeño sausage, cheese ravioli, veggies, and sun
dried tomato Alfredo. Photos tomorrow.
Speaking of food, here is a secret menu item from Burger King... basically
a heart attack on a bun. Burger King doesn't slack on this bad boy, it comes
stacked with 4 meat patties, 4 cheese slices, bacon (obviously), and BK's
special sauce. Make sure you grab a handful of napkins after ordering the
Suicide Burger!
... And a secret menu item from Taco Bell... this sounds interesting, "The
Hulk" consists of a 5-layer burrito that comes with guacamolé instead of nacho
cheese. Oh, and make sure you go out of your way to drive to the "good" Taco
Bell. That way you get the fresh guacamolé and not last night's brown
leftovers.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

National Iced Tea Day
With the official start of summer just a few days away. The timing is
perfect for National Iced Tea
Day.
Chances are, it is already hot in your area. Today may serve as a good
reminder to make and enjoy your first (of many) Iced Tea drink of the season.
Have it plain, add a little lemon, or sweeten it with sugar. Iced Tea is
certainly a favorite summer cooler of millions of Americans. And best of all,
tea is good for your health!
It takes no imagination to decide how to enjoy this great day: Grab an Iced
Tea and head out to the hammock strung under a shady tree.
*I remember visiting the South with my parents when I was about 10 years
old. The Southerners drink "sweet tea" which is SUPER sugary iced tea. ICK. I
couldn't drink it. I like mine with lemon, not
sugar!!

Happy Iced Tea Day! I'll make a pitcher. We serve plain, with all combinations of sweeteners, citurs slices and whatever is in the garden to suit individual tastes.
LOVE the story on how barns came to painted that iconic shade of red.
