Flag Day 1975.
today Jerry and I said our 'I do's in the courtyard of the Congregational Church on
San Gabriel Blvd in San Gabriel.
Steve Voors
(LASD) was Jerry's best man and Sandy (Todoran- Wilson S'63) Beck was my matron
of honor. Kristen was the flower girl and Brian the ring-bearer. A lot of
Jerry's friends couldn't get the time off, but showed up (on duty) and there was
a line of radio cars out in front of the church! Our reception was at
home.
We had a
water bottle filled with wine (this one I still have...)
and a beer
keg. Mom made a cake, she and my sisters made sandwiches. We had quite a party!
We headed to San Francisco for our honeymoon the next day. Happy Anniversary
Darling!
Yesterday I went into town to send off my estimated quarterly
state taxes, get some cracked corn for the birds, drop off some things at the
senior center,
had a chat in the store parking lot with my friend and Rogue River policeman John Foster, and stop at the market for chicken thighs. They also had
pistachio muffins. Got some!! They are green and looked so yummy. Here's a
recipe...
When I got home Dude had left me a mess. He chewed up a Kleenex box!
Sigh....................
Some things to "ponder" from email pal Gator:
Why is 'bra' singular and 'panties'
plural?
Why do toasters always have a setting that
burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being
would eat?
If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why
is there a stupid song about him?
The last of the hidden menu items...
Sonic fried pickles
Sonic has been holding out on us for awhile now. They have
a whole stock of fried pickles hidden in the depths of the kitchen. If you
don’t know fried pickles, you need to get acquainted. They are a delicious
deep-fried, Southern treat that all pickle lovers will
adore.
Jack in the box loaded grilled breakfast
sandwich
Jack has created another meat lover’s dream with their
own masterpiece. The loaded sandwich comes with 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of ham,
2 strips of bacon, 2 cheese slices and then they give you the option to add
sausage, turkey or extra bacon. Everyone loves
options.

How about that! Your anniversary is on Donald Trump's birthday! I will have to leave him a message on his FB page.
I will be going to San Gabriel to a luncheon meeting today so I will give a shout out as we drive by that little church. :)
They serve fried pickles at Chili's now. John orders them.
Love Sheriff Joe! I have a photo of Daryl with him.
Happy Happy memories today on your 41st anniversary.

Yes, interesting T the people born on Flag Day. Being patriotic, Jerry and I thought it was a great day to get married! Those pickles sound good. Going to have to try them! xoox
Happy Anniversary. Today must be bittersweet for you.
I know the answer as to Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat? To remind our husbands of their mother's cooking.
My mother-in-law has a beautifully cross-stitch saying in her kitchen "Dinner is ready when the smoke alarm goes off."
Happy Birthday, US Army. May God grant favor unto you.
Thanks L, yes bittersweet. Good memories but he is so missed, every single day! Love the saying your mother-in-law has about dinner!!!! xo
