Rain ~ $20 Dollar Bill ~ Smilebox #2 Laughlin

Good 47º very cloudy morning. Did get rain yesterday but not until about 6:30pm. Only rained 30 minutes or so and we got about 1/10". More 'maybe' today.
Breakfast yesterday....... leftover Mexican rice with asparagus, egg, and Sriracha mayonnaise, and tomato. Coffee and my green veggie/fruit juice...

Yesterday:

The new $20 bill coming out in 2020 will look like this..

I will not be using it. I think it's just not right to take Andrew Jackson off a bill that has had his picture since 1928. The first $20 was with Grover Cleveland in 1914... Don't know why they took him off.

Then Jackson in 1928....

...and updated in 1996....
Even Ben Carson said, "They should put Tubman's photo on a $2 bill. Nobody uses it anyway."

This freekin' administration wants to change EVERYTHING! I despise them all!

Yesterday was feeling puny, so didn't do much. I think I was sympathizing with Kristen, who has the stomach flu. You know, working in a grammar school with all those petri dishes, and her immune system is not the best right now.... Hopefully she's better today.

I'm getting a cold I think... sneezing sneezing sneezing and itchy eyes and runny nose. Swell.

Historically this date....
1945 – Adolf Hitler's designated successor Hermann Göring sends him a telegram asking permission to take leadership of the Third Reich, which causes Hitler to replace him withJoseph Goebbels and Karl Dönitz.

1985 – Coca-Cola changes its formula and releases New Coke. The response is overwhelmingly negative, and the original formula is back on the market in less than 3 months.

Good morning.

Hope your daughter is feeling better. Compromised immune systems are an adjustment.

Perhaps you'll find solace in the removing A Jackson's photo from the $20 bill in that he was the founder of the modern Democratic Party):- We don't need business owners to have to deal with an extra bill in currency- imagine the inefficiency of accomodating an extra bill or coin.

I hope you read this... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Jackson

Jackson was of the same heritage as I am, Scot/Irish. Was a slave owner, but good to his slaves, as were my grandparents. I doubt if the democrat party was the same as it is today. Jackson fought in the Revolutionary War, captured, and "mistreated" by the British. I think back then he and other politicians were trying to figure out the best way to run this country, with no previous knowledge in a totally foreign land.

Prayers going up for Kristen to get well. For you too! I have been taking zinc for months now and haven't yet had my annual cold. (Knock on wood)
I heard Greta V. say she too was upset that they were changing the pic of the president on the $20. I think she had an excellent idea. Why not create a $25 and put Tubman's pic on that.

Loved you Smile Box. It was great seeing my two guys on your slide show. Kudos for getting such a great smile out of Daryl. :) Looked like lots of fun, Don't know why I never attended with John before we got Matthew. Maybe someday!

Feel better!

XO Trisha
