Good 26º clear and icy morning.
Yesterday was a New Year's Eve miracle with SUN!!!! Started at 31º and by
9am cooled off to 29º. The we had a heat wave ...
warmed to 57º! We started to see a little blue sky early..
OMG then there was more....
Total blue sky and lots of SUN!!!!
It sure helped get rid of the winter blahs.....
By 3 o'clock it got quite windy! And again last evening... blowing and howling.
I took a quick trip into town to mail some stuff. Back home I opened the
back end of the car and let Dude out. He loves to run.... can you see him up
there???
By 2pm yesterday it was "wine o'clock"... 5pm in NY!
Yesterday for dinner I fixed some spinach & ricotta ravioli with my
homemade marinara sauce (tomatoes, garlic, jalapeño, spinach, chipotle, olives,
mushrooms, and cheesy Alfredo sauce), and a can of artichoke hearts.
... and an Omaha Steak's Stuffed Sole... with scallops and crabmeat.
OINK~!!!
Today is my
neighbor Frank's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK!!!
Love
this...taking Lucy for a ride on the quad taking' the trash can to the
road!
I really am
Blessed to have such great neighbors!!!!!

Later after a few incoming phone calls re HAPPY NEW YEAR I settled in my
snuggy chair with the blanket Brian and Jen got me (electric!)
More wine, TV ... New Years Shows... which all turned out to be not of my
genre, the music and musicians I had not heard and did not know who they were. I
miss the old days when Dick Clark hosted. It was a lot more fun.
The Rose Parade will be on soon. Geared up to watch that. Have a great day!
2016. Wow.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy January oneth. Ciao.

Bloody Mary Day
Pete Petiot’s “Original” Bloody Mary
Pete Petiot is the bartender who claimed to have invented the
Bloody Mary at Harry’s American Bar in the Roaring 20’s. Credit actually goes to
comedian George Jessel in the 1950s—read the history
of the Blood Mary. But Petiot, who became head barman at the St. Regis Hotel
in New York City, served this recipe:
- 2 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces tomato juice
- 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 2 to 4 dashes salt
- 2 dashes fresh black pepper
- 2 dashes cayenne pepper
- 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Shake
with ice and strain into a short glass.
Different Alcohol
If
your favorite spirit isn’t vodka, try one of these:
- Ruddy Mary: Replace vodka with gin.
- Red
Eye: Replace vodka with beer, also replacing tomato juice with Clamato
(see also Michelada Clementina) - Snowball, Bloody Snowball: Replace vodka with Bourbon
- Virgin Mary: Made without alcohol

HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR SUE!!
I agree about the Dick Clark New Year's Eve Show. So when we got home I turned on Fox. Their show was terrific and I really enjoyed it.
Watching the Rose Parade right now!
XOXO Trisha
HAPPY NEW YEAR !
We tried to watch some of the New Year's Eve specials- none held our attention- and Fox News announcing Trump would be on- and others- I didn't want him interfering with the 41sh anniversary of when I met Gerry. We picked some movies and nibbled.
Lydia
Thanks T & L. I guess I should have watched FOX last night! Ah well.... xo
Hey! Fox had on several of the "R" candidates on their show last night. They had the entire Trump family on just for a few minutes right before and during the count down. The family was at their hotel in Palm Beach at their party. It was a great show on Fox!
XO Trisha
