Snow ~ Turkey Soup ~ Sunday Football ~ Monday Football

Good 34º gloomy snowy morning.

Yesterday I started on the turkey soup, stripped the bones of most of the meat and packaged up the meat in zip bags, then cooking the bones in a big pot of water. Bring to boil and simmer a couple of hours. Then drain, and put the liquid back in the pot along with turkey off the bone and some of the other meat. Then vegetables (potato, yam, celery, carrots, and mushrooms) were readied to add.

Oh look, that is my Mom's vintage Ekco Rotating Head Peeler. It's the BEST and probably at least 70 years old also or more.

I also had ready to add some dehydrated tomato dices, bell pepper, and canned mushrooms and noodles.

The turkey from the bones....

And extra turkey cut up....

It all went into the pot along with some dried onion and garlic and salt and pepper and Worcestershire (or as Jerry would call it... "Wooster Rooster" ! ) Then it simmered on low for another couple hours.

    DELISH!!!!

The weather yesterday stayed cold. By noon it was 39º. This was 10am...
12:45 started raining/snowing on the mountain. Stopped and was just 40º with the pressure dropping... rain started again after dark and then sometime in the night the snow came.

My Patriots lost to Kristen's Jets. I was happy for her but sad for me so I had a Dirty Sue Martini! Then a nice conversation with Jennifer and Mike and Linda called too. Soup for dinner and chair, wine, and Blue Bloods.

Tonight's football:

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

December 28th
National Chocolate Candy Day

Chocolate. Who doesn’t enjoy the melody of those three syllables? The history of chocolate began right here in the Americas: The cacao tree first grew wild in the tropical rainforests of the Amazon basin. Our word chocolate comes from the Aztec cacahuatl, based on the earlier Maya word xocoatl (for details, see the Chocolate Glossary).

Your grounds look lovely with that light sprinkling of snow.

It is really cold here. John says it's 31o when he leaves for work. Yikes! It's 9:00 a.m. and on the patio it's 45o. Cold cold for So. Cal. I am enjoying this winter (for us) weather.

LOL I am still working on a box of See's that Daryl and Becky gave me at Thanksgiving. Yesterday for my birthday John and the boys handed me another two pounder! I told them they must want a fat momma! lol

XOXO Trisha

I told Michael, you guys are in the play offs. Don't be piggy 'bout it. Ha. It's been a while since mine and Kristen's Jets have gotten anywhere near the playoffs. Ha. Next Sunday is going to be a stressful day.
