Good 37º cloudy morning. Sprinkled yesterday on and off. sun came and went.
Rained hard for a few minutes. Looks like I got about 1/8" here.
A reminder... there is a Toys 4 Tots drop off location in Grants Pass at my
son Brian's State Farm Office. He is in the Allen Creek Rd shopping center (by
Haggen and McDonalds):
Brian is a former Marine, having served during the Gulf War (on board the
USS Missouri!)
Brian's office is open M-F. Stop by and drop off an unwrapped toy!
Shared by George B (LASD ret)... thank George!
Best one minute gun commercial ever...
This gloomy, early dark .. late sunrise, had me somewhat in a funk along
with all the bad cloudy dank weather. No sun! Then I remembered my 'blue
light'.
I turn this on when I'm sitting at my desk....
Mood disorders, Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD, is a type of depression
that results from a lack of daylight in the winter months. Although many people
experience minor mood fluctuations due to lack of adequate sunshine, the more
severe forms of SAD can result in debilitating fatigue, changes in appetite, and
severe mood disorders. Most people treated with blue light therapy for SAD show
improvement within seven days, according to the Mayo Clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.org/search/search-results?q=SAD
I feel better already and it only took 2 days!
Was outside to take pictures
and saw this hawk in the pasture... he apparently caught himself a mole or
vole...

How I LOVE Italian food. Here is a great and simple recipe:
Chicken Penne Rigate
Ingredients:
1 pkg penne
1½ pounds chicken tenders, cut into pieces
4 cups tomatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1 yellow onion, chopped
3/4 cup basil leaves, chopped
3 T. olive oil
salt and black pepper to taste
Cook pasta according to package instructions.
Drain the tomato chunks in a colander for an hour, or until they are fairly
dry.
In skillet warm up the olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook
until tender. Add chicken and cook thoroughly.
Toss in the tomatoes and bring to simmer. Cook until tomatoes are falling
apart and most of the liquid has evaporated. Add the basil and cooked pasta.
Heat. Enjoy!
Chris of UPS showed up in the late afternoon with my Omaha Steak order. It
contained stuffed sole with scallops and crab, filet mignon, top sirloin steak,
stuffed baked potatoes, potatoes au gratin, steak burgers, and chocolate molten
lava cakes. So, for dinner I had a stuffed sole and some potatoes au gratin....
I put some dollops of the creamy garlic sauce on the sole and had a dipping dish
of homemade ranch for the potatoes and tomatoes...
HEAVEN!!!!!!
Then it was chair, wine, and a Hallmark movie, Matchmaker Santa..
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

December 5th
National Repeal Day
(a 5th on the 5th? LOL)
In 1919, the
18th Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed by Congress, making
it against the law to manufacture, sell or transport “intoxicating liquors for
beverage purposes” in America. During the same year, Congress also passed the
Volstead Act, which provided for the enforcement of Prohibition, despite President
Woodrow Wilson’s veto. While thousands of bootleggers stills were destroyed,
organize crime flourished. After 13 dry years, prohibition in America ended on
this day in 1933 when the 21st Amendment to the United States Constitution was
passed and ratified, repealing the 18th Amendment.
In honor of
National Repeal
Day, why not enjoy a tasting brew or
festive cocktail with a few friends, co-workers or special someone and celebrate
the constitution and the end of the Prohibition
era?

GOOD morning.
Interesting on the Blue Light. Since you use one, does that make you a blue light special?
I use grow lights for the same reason. Maybe I should have paid more attention to the label. It said they were grow light.
Not only do I like Italian Food- it likes me. So much that it stays and stays and stays. So says Mr. Scale.
I sense a theme... growing... something much better when speaking about children or tomatoes than on the butt sitting on the chair):- .
Hey babeee... yes, I bees the blue light special!!! LOL. If I was into 'growing' I would have grow lights too. Nothing wrong with a little pasta occasionally, L !! xo
LOL Here I thought you would be over the moon to get so much rain. I have seen where they use those lights attached to a visor up in Alaska where it stays dark for so long. When we were in Fairbanks it was midnight and still totally light outside. I hated that.
Love love that gun video! So funny! I will post it on my FB page.
Today is also Art Herrera's birthday. He is three weeks older than I am. :)
That photo of you with Marine Brian is amazing! You look more like his girlfriend! :)
Your Omaha order sounds like mine only I order lots of chicken too. John doesn't like that sole stuffed filet but I think it's great.
I too have been watching the Hallmark movies. I love love the Christmas ones!
XOXO Trisha
