Good 38º foggy morning.
Good grief, I can't believe I slept in til 7:45!
Today is the birthday of the United States Marine Corps. The Corps was
formed on this date in 1775 by the Second Continental Congress, with the first
Marines enlisting under Commandant Samuel Nicholas. The Corps did not start
celebrating that historic day until 1921. My Marines:
my Jerry ....
my Brian ....
my Alex .... my Italian son!
And to my friends... Jon Austin (ret LASD), Terry Bonyea
(ret LASD), Sally Harwell (ret LASD), Mel Nix, Lynn Crowell, and Rick &
Wendy Harp's (Co Fire Capt on Catalina) sons.... And to all the Rogue Valley
Marine Corps League... Semper Fi to all of you and HAPPY
BIRTHDAY.
Semper
Fi!
"The motto of the Marine Corps is Semper Fidelis,
Latin
for "always faithful". Until 1871 it was "First to Fight", a motto that still applies. Through the years, Marines have shortened it to Semper Fi, and "Semper Fi, Mac" is the universal Marine Greeting."
Breakfast yesterday.... a couple of the corn bread muffins
with provolone slices, plain yogurt with a little guacamolé, heated chicken
thigh with some Harry and David pepper/onion relish...

Yesterday stayed rainy and drizzly all day... warmed to 60º.
Later I did some more sorting out of "stuff" I don't need and boxed it up.
Saw these crazy Toms out on the back bridge..
Jump!
For dinner I re-hydrated a bunch of my Harmony House vegegtables..
Then I put two packages of precooked quinoa & brown rice in my small
crockpot with a little water and the drained vegetables. Mixed them up well and
left the temp on low for a couple hours. Then I added in a jar of bacon Alfredo
sauce..
I let that all heat well. I had cooked chicken thighs
for Dude (whatta face!) ♥ ♥ ♥
So, I stole one of his .... and that was dinner...
Last night's game was good! 'Da Bears' finally got a win!
I know several people who are happy about that, eh Suz & Phil and Big
Dan!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

LOL Love that last pic of the Marines! I was wondering why Daryl posted a photo of the book that John's dad (Grandpa Bowler) wrote from his experience in the Marines. I will post it also.
The Marines are the BEST!
My kids LOVED Sesame Street too. Every morning at 9:00 they went to the play room and watched or at the breakfast table. I remember one morning when they slept late I watched it alone. lol I enjoyed it too and learned much from it myself.
It was rainy and cold here yesterday too.
XO Trisha
T, I will check his post. I'd like to see the book. Yes, Sesame Street was fun! Glad you got some cool rainy weather! xo

Did Dude get a glass of wine, too? Does he prefer red or white? Always remember, we aren'T drinking alone IF the dog is home!! BOL
GS
GS, LOL! No, Dude is not a wine drinker. He prefers chicken stock! But, he does LOVE a shredded chicken thigh with his kibble in the morning. When it's time to eat, he jumps and jumps and jumps! Gets sooooo excited! xo
Sue,
A job well done blessing for your "Always Faithful" and active support of our troops.
