Forty eight years ago today (ugh....
has it really been that long????) I had a 'routine' doc appointment because I
was pregnant. The doc said my baby was breech and a few other complications and
I needed to have a caesarian delivery and to meet him at the hospital the next
morning at 6am. WHAT??? TOMORAROW IS HALLOWEEN!!!
I drove into Grants Pass yesterday and on the way ws this awesome rainbow
over I-5...
Sorry, not as good as I'd like it to be, used little Nikon camera! Should
have take the Canon!!! Then a couple errands... dropped off some egg cartons to
Leah (she has chickens) and a jar of Miracle Whip to Kandy, had it and don't use
it and her husband likes it! Then to the Kitchen Company to leave some things
with her... my pickled tomatoes for her martini, Sports Illustrated for Mike's
grandson, and a Rogue River Press for Mike.
Yesterday was the LE/Fire luncheon at the Grants Pass Golf Club.
Bought Dale a martini for his birthday (last month, 9-15). He likes his dry
and up, I like mine dirty! (ps. had mine in a wine glass!) One of the LAPD guy's
dad had just passed away. He was also LAPD, 44 years retired and 99 years old.
We were all given a shot of whiskey to toast him.. RIP Frank Bushke!
Lunch was buffet... I had mushroom chicken and gravy on rice, salad,
cucumber and cooked carrots. Really good!!!
At our table was Dale Yellin LASD ret SEB Motors), Jim Morris (|LASD ret),
Ron Terrazas (LAPD ret), Walter (LAPD ret and 94 years old AND his birthday is
Halloween!) and his caregiver... a gal born in Alabama with the last name of
Wheeler, but not related to our local car dealer. We had a
great time talking about all of our favorite eating places in
So. Cal...... Little Joe's, Shogun, King Taco, Lawry's, etc. Nice lunch. Nice
folks. Good time.
Then to Safeway..... and home. Ahhhhh..... Warmed to 75º.
Dinner was a mug of Progresso Light Chicken Noodle Soup... Mmmmmm....
Chair, TV, wine, Patriots Football, and Blue Bloods!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

National Candy Corn Day is
today. Enjoy a handful of this sweet Fall treat. And, what perfect timing. National Candy Corn Day comes just a day before Halloween. That
means you can eat plenty of it, before you go out Trick or Treating.
Candy corn is enjoyed all year long. Place it in a candy dish any time of
the year, and watch it disappear by the handful. By far, the vast majority of
candy corn is consumed during the Fall months, with both Halloween and
Thanksgiving being the biggest times to eat it.
Candy corn was invented in the 1880s by George Renninger, and first
manufactured by the Wunderle Candy Company. The Goelitz Candy company was the
first to manufacture mass quantities around the turn of the century.
Candy corn consists primarily of corn syrup, honey, and sugar. There's lots
of carbs(sugar), but it's fat free!?
Make this candy corn on the cob..

Thanks alot! lol I cry every time I watch that video with GW throwing out the ball. What a great guy! We miss him. He had a heart of gold.
When Debbie went into labor and was giving birth three years ago tomorrow, Halloween, she was upset. She didn't want a baby with a Halloween birthday but she got one! LOL When dad and I arrived at the hospital before Isabella was born I said to Kevin "You're having a hob goblin baby"!!! I was so excited. Kevin told me "Don't say that to Debbie cause she isn't happy about this!" lol
This year will be the first time they will celebrate Isabella's birthday on her actual birth date because it's on Saturday.
We are all going in costume. Fun but hope we won't scare her.
XO Trisha
