Good 53º raining morning. Rain started again, but don't know when. Was
sleeping too hard~! Not raining hard, just drizzling. Nice. According to weather
service, should be "quite a bit warmer" today. Maybe 71º-ish. Right now heavy
heavy low clouds. Can't see my mountain!
Football tonight:
Another Egg-Tastic breakfast... two eggs mixed with about 1T
mayo, some chives, on a rice cake with creamy garlic sauce~!
OMGOOOD
BTW, if you get and Egg-Tastic and it doesn't come with a
recipe page, let me know and I will email or mail one to you. Sally said the
ones she and Jim bought didn't have recipes.
Today is a special birthday.. Alice Reardon, wife of the infamous Pat
Reardon (LASD ret). HEY ALICE, way up there in Idaho... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope
you have a GREAT day!
Today is also a special anniversary... Jim (LASD Sgt) and Olga Duran
celebrating 30 years! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY kids!
Throw Back Thursday... Sr. Prom.. 1963 with Bruce Baumgartner. He went to
San Gabriel High School, I went to Wilson High. Wonder what happened to that
handsome boy!
Yesterday I made a run into Grants Pass. Rain started coming down again.
YES! Stopped to get Tucker a gift for his birthday (will be Sunday) and then to
Safeway for groceries. On the way from there I had to stop for a train. Hadn't
seen one of these in a long while nor have I had to stop at a crossing....
The engineer waved to me!
Home and put away all my stuff. By then it was 2:30 and still only 58º.
Nice. Wore a sweatshirt! From now on it will supposedly warm up. I was looking
outside and saw a doe jump the fence and start chowing down on the grape leaves.
Lo and behold, over on the other side of the yard were the triplet fawns. I was
so worried since I hadn't seen them in a couple weeks! They look great!
Then a bit later they were all down by the barn..
And look! A hummingbird sitting in mid air!

Lunch was a dish of melons/strawberries/pineapple from Safeway. Dinner was
reruns of the Buffalo Chicken Soup. Watched a Hallmark movie, Loves Comes

I like Katherine Heigl. In this film there is a little girl whose mother
had passed away. Heigl's husband had also died, so the relationship is started
with the girl's father, Dale Midkiff. The young girl is played by Skye McCole
Bartusiak. This actress was born in 1992 and sadly died from a drug at age 21.
AND no, I didn't watch the debate. I HATE politics! I don't like debates.
Sorry, but that's me. I will vote, but we don't have a choice at the moment...

anyone who could possibly help our country, other than flushing it down the

Apple Dumpling Day
EUNICE'S EASY APPLE DUMPLINGS | |
4
large apples, peeled, cored and quartered
2 cans Crescent Rolls 1 cup Orange juice 1 cup sugar 1 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2 sticks butter
DO NOT PREHEAT OVEN:
1. Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
2. Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll so it is completely or mostly encased in the dough. Arrange evenly in prepared dish. 3. In a small saucepan over medium heat - combine orange juice, sugar, cinnamon and butter. Cook stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Pour over dumplings. 4. Set over to 350°F and bake dumplings 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm with the sauce (can add whipped topping) This recipe is amazing, yet so simple. If you have any leftovers, put dumplings into a bowl - spoon a little sauce over - and microwave for about 25 seconds. This will definitely become a family favorite. This serves 16: Recipe may be halved. |

That's ok not to like to watch debates. I really don't see much of a "debate". It's really a candidate forum. For political wonks like me it's a much awaited event and love love it.
Adorable triplet deer. So cute.
Loved you prom pic. What a darling dress on you and yes your date is mighty handsome. That was the year John and I married.
Surprised you didn't tell it's Constitution Day!
XO Trisha
Yes, it's Constitution Day and yes, it's Citizenship Day, but I was hungry for an Apple Dumpling!! xo
I tried my EggTastic last night. Deeeelish eggs! Perfectly cooked. I didn't get recipes either, but my imagination & the ideas you post are fine. OK, what is your NEXT find I need to buy, too? lol BTW, my Trader Joe's doesn't have the garlic sauce, unless i'm just missing it. I do love the Siracha mayo, tho! Mixed some in my eggs & topped of with that, cheese & sliced green onions! Yummo!
GS
Oh good, GS!!!! I'll email you the recipes... you can print them off. The Creamy Garlic Sauce is made exclusively for Costco. xoxo
You look so lovely at the prom. That’s when young ladies wanted to look nice and classy, not sexy and trashy. Ann
Happy Soap Box!
I'm fascinated by debates and candidate forums (last night was kind of a strange hybrid of the two)- but I only give so many points as part of the decision making process. Something I look for is consistency, depth and breadth of knowledge- and persuasive use of the language. And very important to me- someone who believes in the greatness of the American people.
Take heart. The Republican field will start to winnow now. Far better our problems than the oppositions.
