Good (burrrrr) 39º morning. Clear and gonna be
warm.
93º again yesterday. Come on Summer.... GO! We
need Fall and RAIN!!!!!
Can you believe it's the last day of September
already??? Sheeesh.................... going too fast! And lucky us, tomorrow is
the first day of legal recreational marijuana in this state. Joy.
I keep three tubs of water in the back and one in
the front and with the critters around here I have to fill them once a day!
Yesterday I was going out the front door and momma doe was
drinking...
How about this for a 'Fall' smoothie... 1/2
banana, 1/3 cup pumpkin puree, 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt, 3/4 cup almond or
vanilla soy milk, few shakes of pumpkin spice, 4-5 ice cubes.
Yesterday was exciting.... some vacuuming and
laundry.
In the afternoon I got a call from Gil & Mary
(Fancher) Zavala. Both of them W'63 Wilsonites. They have been traveling and now
on their way to their daughter's place on the coast. They camped with their
trailer at The Valley of The Rogue Park... I picked them up and we drove to
Grants Pass to Taqueria Mexico.. on H Street between 6th and 7th ...
It was sooooooooooooo good to see these two. Been
so many years. I think maybe the last time we saw each other was at the first
class reunion and that was over 40 years ago.
Food was great and we had a fun
visit!
My Flautas de Pollo with rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream. OMGOOOOD!
They will stay at the coast and then head back to
Colorado. Gil's family owned and ran Hanks on Alhambra Avenue in El Sereno. Mary
was in Jobs Daughters with me.
Oh and BTW, in regards to recreational marijuana,
it's been in Colorado for some time now. Mary and Gil said the increase of
teenage use is obvious and the rate of traffic accidents is up too! Guess that's
what we have to look forward to here.
Speaking of car wrecks... on my way into town
yesterday there was this wreck in front of the high school ...
Nobody in the vehicle, tow truck was there. That
MaryJane shit doesn't start til tomorrow!!!!!!

Good health and fitness day. Maybe I'll go to the local gym and walk around the equipment... I actually do miss working out every day. Mr. Scale was much kinder with how he communicated how the diet I've been on since jr high is going):-

Heydi Ho! Thanks for the pumpkin smoothie recipe. Off to get the puree and maybe the spice today. Re: Marijuana--I saw a special program on this and the biggest danger for teens is that between 10-18, their minds are forming. Teens are supposed to have problems so they can learn how to solve them. When they toke up and zone out, they don't learn problem-solving and when they slip into adulthood, they are at a disadvantage and, of course, all of society suffers. Teens don't know how to drive anyway. They know how to operate a car, but they don't have the experience to really know how to drive. Combine that with MJ and it is a disaster waiting to happen.
