Good 53º smokey morning. Yesterday we hit 96º and the smoke never left. My
mountain all but disappeared. Hard to breath outside! 90º was predicted, but it
was 95º at 2:30. Pressure was dropping, but no radar. Just this ugly view of my
mountain!
Today the prediction is for 103º. Joy.
This from my friend Pat Tracy.... a lesson in life:
Yesterday was a pain all morning. AOL and the whole computer was acting up.
I was SO frustrated. Took a drive into RR to pick up a package at the Post
Office, brought my trash can and neighbor's in, stopped at PJ and Dave's. She
had some cherry tomatoes she wanted to give me.

This is interesting... a photo taken in 1932 in 'Surry', but unknown what
state. There are several... Interesting because it's probably one of the first,
and notice how high the buttons are. Not available for anyone in a wheelchair!
Dinner was the eggplant, finally!
The 1/4"-1/2" slices were slathered with olive oil and sprinkled with
garlic salt and pepper...
Then I slathered mayonnaise on half and the Creamy Garlic Sauce on the
rest...
Next came the mozzarella cheese.....
I topped the cheese with some of the "crazy salad" veggie mixture (see blog
August 11th.) You could also use marinara sauce, fire roasted diced tomatoes,
pesto, or anything that floats your boat!
They were baked in a pre-heated 400º oven for 30-35 minutes. I generally
have to cook a little longer here as the altitude is 1200 feet, and that makes a
difference. Give them 20 minutes and then keep and eye on them, checking
often.
Mayonnaise and the Weber Roasted Garlic & Herb seasoning was sprinkled
on~ The tomatoes were some PJ gave me.
The eggplant was FABULOUS!!!! All I could do to keep from eating it
all~!
Here is a vimeo video, pictures being taken by a drone while flying over
parts of China. Beautiful scenery!
Later....TV, my chair, Hallmark 'A Ring By Spring"
and a few games of solitaire on my iPad. Sort of a sore throat coming on so
gargled with 1/2 water and 1/2 apple cider vinegar. Really helps! Then a shot
glass of Sinfire Whiskey to sip.
Made in Hood River Oregon!
No sore throat this morning!!!
In the early evening the doe was out back laying on the grass by a water
tub. Earlier she was munching on grape leaves.....
Didn't see the fawns yesterday.
The buck was out first thing in the morning and he and the other doe didn't
come back. I think the smoke was so horrible they were staying low. I know
Bruiser was indoors all day. He didn't want to be out there either.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

I too have been having trouble with AOL. About every other email I click on it freezes for a bit with the little circle going round and around! GRRRR Will have to have Kevin take a look.
I used to cook egg plant when my boys were growing up. Can't remember now what I did but I do know that I served it with the red sauce. Yours looks divine and even if you did eat it all, it is good for you! :)
LOVE the golf ball video! I know GS is going to love the chocolate part. :)

Yes, I could have eaten it all, T, but portion control is something I am trying to learn! ICK, not easy!!! xo
