Good 52º clear sunny morning.
Yesterday the temps climbed steadily... 9am 62º, 10am 71º, 11:30 79º, 11:45
82º, 12:15 83º, 1:45 86º, 2:15 89º, 2:40 90º.
The good thing is there was no smoke, for two days in a row!
Yesterday:
By later in the afternoon we got a little wind and some clouds over my
mountain...
But by 3:15 we had the smoke back with gusto! Stinky!
....and of course Dude is relaxing watching out the door and the Bruise has
to sniff him.. which of course makes Dude nervous!
A weekend camping trip for Brian Jen and the kids. Tucker enjoying a
s'more:
Brian's pal Dan:
And this is just too funny.... Sami at "day care" and Dan getting ready to
put Dana in "day care" too:
Breakfast:
A sourdough English muffin half with guacamolé, plain low fat yogurt,
carrots, and pickled asparagus. Yummmmy!
I did exciting stuff like watering, filling the water tubs for the
critters, left some cracked corn out for the birds, did a load of laundry.
Whooppeeee...
Then I decided to stuff some bell peppers I had in the fridge.
I sauteéd the turkey in olive oil, added in shallots, mushrooms, the diced
tops of the peppers, and garlic:
Then in went chopped parsley, spinach, and some Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning
Salute:
Lastly I added in the package of Boursin Garlic and Herb cheese....
I put a cup of chardonnay in the bottom of the Crock*Pot, added the stuffed
peppers, and topped them with Panko crumbs.... 6 hours on low.

Lunch was an ear of corn with the creamy garlic sauce slathered on it!
OMGOOOOD! Remember when you cook corn, bring water to a boil with about 1/4 - 1
cup of white vinegar..depending on how much water. Put the corn in and take off
heat and let sit 10-12 minutes. The vinegar keeps the corn from getting mushy!
Snack: Kirkland dry roasted macadamia nuts and amonds.
Yes, "amonds". If you are from the almond growing country you know this.
When the almonds are harvested the trees are shaken so all the nuts fall off.
Once they are off the tree, they've had the "L" knocked out of them! Here is a
video of such work and notice the young man calls them "amonds"!
Ahhhh dinner.... one of the stuffed peppers topped with cheddar cheese,
lettuce topped with cream cheese and tomatoes. OMGOOOOOD!!!!
Then a Hallmark movie that was lousy. Can't remember the name, but a woman
who starts her own company and her husband becomes a stay at home dad and raises
the kids. They eventually head to college. Dad is not happy because the wife
doesn't accompany them to the school to get settled in the dorms. The dad
decides to file for separation and signs up at the college to finally get his
engineering degree. The financial backers of the mom's company sell it. She
decides to go to the college too and get her degree. She gives the school a huge
donation and gets to live in the dorm also. The kids are furious. It goes on and
on... I fast forwarded it to the end!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

I think Gerry had that Hallmark movie on- I convinced him to go to the bookstore. Much, much better way to spend the evening.
Love the camping pictures. And the stuffed bell pepper- oh, my.
Kids sure are having a good time at the coast! Yes, the pepper was so good! Don't know why I don't make them more often! xo
LOVE the frog corn holders!! Sooooo cute!
GA
I was disappointed that you didn't give the recipe for your stuffed bell peppers. I know the boys wouldn't eat the peppers but I am sure they would like the stuffing.
Interesting video about the "amonds". He said they are called that once they hit the ground. What an involved job. No wonder they are expensive. I hear those trees take more water than any others.
You eat some very interesting food for breakfast! LOL I rarely eat "breakfast" food for breakfast. Matthew loves the blue berry pancakes on a stick. There's a sausage in the middle of them.
The kids look like they are having a ball! Fun before school starts!
XO Trisha
Ha ha ha... yes, GS, I love them too. Being the "frog nut" that I am.xo
I re read the blog about the ingredients for the stuffed bell peppers. Sorry I missed all that the first time around because John was sitting here talking to me while I was reading.
Looks very yummy!!
