Good 52º clear sunny morning.
Yesterday probably topped out about 92º. Stayed clear from smoke here in
Rogue River and in Grants Pass.
I forgot yesterday was 8-7 and 8+7=15.
This cracked me up:
So did this:
Hi to all you guys at Ace in Rogue River!!!!
Breakfast yesterday was white cheddar rice cakes with some guacamolé I got
at Costco in the refrigerated section. This is made by www.GoodFoods.com and it comes in a carton
of 12 individual containers...
Can't you just taste it!
Breakfast!
This has to be some of the best guacamolé I have ever eaten! Beats most
homemade or restaurant made! Really. I am an avocado aficionado having grown up
in So. Cal, having a giant multi-grafted variety avocado tree in our backyard,
and just loving avocados! This product is gluten free, no artificial colors or
ingredients, and made in the USA! Made with Hass Avocados, tomatoes, red onion,
jalapeño peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and sea salt. It's chunky.
Mmmmmmmm
It is sold at Wal-Mart, Costco, and Albertson's. (don't know if Haggen
sells it though, since they took over Albertson's)

Yesterday was a relaxing one. I met up with Jennifer, Micol, and Bob at
Musashi for lunch.
Haven't had Japanese in a while. First we all had hot saké.
Then Jennifer and I each had some chardonnay.
My lunch was the "surf and turf" roll: Shrimp tempura, real
crab, asparagus, grilled beef, wasabi mayo, sesame, and sauce. YUMMMMM.. (one
piece missing..I gave it to Micol!)
Bob & Micol shared the 'Rolling Thunder' roll: Deep fried fish tempura,
cream cheese, jalapeño, white tuna, wasabi mayo, tobiko (flying fish roe), and sesame. They shared
a piece and WOW it was spicy! GOOD!
Jennifer had an albacor hand roll and a salad. The salad had a funny
name... Poki Salad? Something like that. I remember mentioning 'The Hokey
Pokey'.... anyway, a salad made with seaweed, calamari, avocado, and onion.
Hi chef!
We sat there and gabbed and ate for 2 hours! Nice.
Later it was chair time and wine and TV. I watched a Hallmark movie, 'Back
To You And Me' with Lisa Hartman, Dale Midkiff, and Rue McClanahan. http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/back-to-you-me
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

August 8th
National Zucchini Day
Thursday I watched part of the Rachael Ray show. She made a stuffed
zucchini dish ... recipe given to her by an Egyptian taxi driver in Cleveland.
Sounds really good. Also what about this:
A zucchini hot dog. I'd use only part of a zucchini, cutting off a piece
and scooping it out so it's an open-faced hot dog and the zucchini hole is
deeper. Also as in RR's recipe, roast the zucchini first. Coat with olive oil,
add sea salt and pepper, roast 400º 10-12 minutes. Use hot dogs or Aidells
Sausage (so many flavors!) http://www.aidells.com/products
or.... how about ZUCCHINI CAKES:
2 cups grated zucchini (this is approximately 2 5-inch
zucchinis)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
non-stick cooking spray
sour cream & lemon wedges (optional)
Combine all ingredients (except sour cream and lemon wedges) in the bowl of
a food processor or blender. Process until well blended.
Pour batter into medium bowl and set aside.
Heat small skillet over low heat 1 minute, light spray with cooking
spray.
Spoon 2 tablespoons of batter into skillet.
Cook 1-2 minutes each side.
Serve with sour cream and lemon wedge.

Thanks, Now I am hungry for Japanese food!
Enjoyed your blog today!

Your rolls at lunch looked so yummy. Looked like there wasn't any raw fish in it. I would eat that! LOL You all find the cutest little places for lunch.
I also like the looks and sound of the zucchini cakes.
You said Haggen bought Albertson's up there? Here in DB they took over our Von's store. I've never been in their market. I will forever shop at our new Walmart Neighborhood Market. I love going in there.
Oh my that guacamole looks so yummy! It's good for you too!
XO Trisha
Yes, you can get with or without raw fish, T. I want to make those zucchini cakes too. We don't have Vons up here. Haggen is good, but expensive. I like my Safeway! xo
Have to try that guacamole. Sometime. try dipping egg rolls in it.
Sounds good, L!!! ox
