Good 40º clear morning.
"They keep saying 'rain', so it looks like we may get some....
Yesterday a quick run into town to make a bank deposit, then back home to
mow. Well, I waited a bit. It was still cold. Then it heated up to 72º. Mowed
and mowed. By then it was 79º. Still a lot more to do. UGH. Did about 1/2 or a
little less. I did the part on the right and down a little farther...
You can see the tall grass that I still have to work on....
Dorrie, who works at Ace, said her husband has a brush-hog and wanted to
come over and take a look at the property. I was going to have the guy who did
it last year come back but he called and has a neck injury and can't turn his
head. Not good if you are driving a tractor! Anyway, Dave (another one!) will
come on Sunday and start. It's a 9-12 hour job. $$$$$ He will finish up through
the week in the evening after he gets off work. YEAH, the fields will be
cut!
Sent to me by Steve Voors (LASD ret)... this is just amazing... a 3D
drawing:
Historically this date...
1960 – The Food and Drug
Administration announces it will approve birth control as an additional indication for Searle's Enovid, making Enovid the world's
first approved oral contraceptive pill.
1980 – In Norco, California, five masked gunman hold up a Security
Pacific bank, leading to a violent shoot-out and one of the largest pursuits in California history. Two of the gunmen and one police
officer are killed and thirty-three police and civilian vehicles are destroyed
in the chase.
2002 – The 38-day stand-off in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem comes to an end when the Palestinians inside agree to have 13 suspected terrorists
among them deported to several different countries.
And births this date
include...
1918 – Mike Wallace, American journalist (d.
2012)
1946 – Candice Bergen, American actress
1949 – Billy Joel, American musician
1962 – John Corbett, American actor
...He has been in a long-term
relationship with actress Bo Derek since 2002.
Later PJ came by and picked up an old doggie igloo house that was in the
barn. She put it out for her new cat Woody. He and Neko, their other cat, like
to sit inside them in the backyard.
For dinner I wanted pasta... so took the leftover veggies from the
mini-bites, added more carrots, and some canned mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, fresh
broccoli, fresh celery, and fresh baby spinach... along with spinach
pasta...
Everything was heated with a bit of olive oil....
.... and added in minced garlic and some Alfredo Sauce....
Cooked and added the spinach noodles....
.... then the fresh spinach....
This was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!!
PERFECT for a vegetable
lover!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao

Lost Sock Memorial Day
Lost
Sock Memorial Day recognizes your drawer full of unmatched socks. Each unmatched
sock represents a missing sock. We never throw away our unmatched socks. After
all, it may show up someday.
On
Lost Sock Memorial Day, we suggest you spend a little time (as little as
possible) searching for those missing socks. After a (very) brief search, and
in good "Memorial" spirit, spend a minute reflecting upon how warm and
comforting the missing socks were on your stinky toes. Then, by all means, get
on with your life.
we
encourage you to use this special day, to toss out all of your unmatched socks.
Let's face it, you're never gonna find the missing
one.

All the veggies look so good.
I saw John Corbett in concert once. All the best wishes to him and Ms. Derek.
Lost Socks Day? Now there is something the entire nation should be able to relate to on an individual basis.
My late brother in law was at the Security Pacific when it was robbed. God bless law enforcement for keeping us safe.
Sounds like your brother-in-law and a lot of others escaped alive from a disaster! xo
I am to the point where I want to toss all Matthew's socks then go buy many packages of the exact same ones. That way there would be no problem matching them up! lol
As always your dinner is so yummy looking. I love Alfredo sauce better than tomato sauce. Yum yum!!
Good job mowing. Do you have a riding mower or did I see a walking one sitting there? Me thinks you need a yard crew. :) Yea, I know $$$$!
XO Trisha
No, T, I have a riding lawnmower. That thing down there is an old snow blower left here by previous owners. xo
