Good 31º just a little ice on the barn roof morning.
WOW, snow (actually it was hail) in Huntington Beach
yesterday! Whodda thought. Snow on the beach!!! And evacuations were asked for
at the Newport Beach and Pier due to lightening strikes! Amazing.
Yesterday morning the geese stopped by.....
They are here about every other day. They nest in a tree up on my
neighbor's property, but come here to get treats!
Yesterday was a trip into Grants Pass. I didn't have my blood
test done Friday, so it was yesterday. Got word back in the afternoon from my
doc's office that my potassium level is just about normal and to keep taking the
supplement. I am taking a powder kind that I put in water. Gets me drinking more
water!
Then I had to take my glasses I wear to see the computer, into
the glass repair guy.
While I was gone on Saturday Dude got my glasses off my desk
and scratched the lens on one side, bent them, and one of the nose pads was
missing! Joy. At least my health insurance pays part of the frames and the lens.
I will get them next week. David, the eyeglass fixer guy took the glasses Dude
trashed and straightened them and put a new nose pad on. He's so nice! While I
was there Dr. Jeff Pelson (my eye doctor) came into the lobby. We chatted for a
few. He's AWESOME and soooooooo nice also. Although he looks 18 years old....
he's not.
If you live in this area.. this is my
recommendation:
Everyone in that office is super nice.

My friend Olga Duran (married to LASD Sgt Jimmy) posted this
quiz on car parts on her FB page. I took it and got 100%. Not bad for a
girl!
Outstanding!
You you NAILED this test! You identified all of the major car parts did better
than 99% of the people that have taking this test! You could get a job working
at any auto-parts store or car dealership with your vast knowledge of car parts,
which will can earn you more than $25 a hour.
Share this quiz and see if your friends can come close to beating you! We doubt they will.

Can you name these basic car parts?

Dinner was a pre-made Mac & Cheese from the deli section
at the market. I added in (lots!) celery, canned mushrooms, green chilies, and 2
cans of tuna. I scraped out the mac and cheese into a bowl and mixed in all the
other ingredients ... then put all into a glass baking dish I had sprayed with
cooking spray. Topped it all with mozzarella cheese. Baked 350º for 35-40
minutes.
I put some fresh spinach in a bowl and topped it with the Mac & Cheese
mixture......
OMGOOOOOOOOD!!! Going to make it again and again.. I have some canned
shredded chicken with buffalo sauce.. that will be next. When I go to Costco
I'll get some canned salmon and make it with that!
Of course you can use the package of Kraft Mac & Cheese
too.

GOOD morning! My granddaughter lives 5 minutes from the pier- and they had no idea she could have pulled out her cute little snow-bunny suit to play ):-
Tyler Florence is one of our favorite chefs.
Other than a decoy- we've never had geese land here- but we'll here them coming and watch the skies.
I am shocked! I took the auto parts test and got 100% also! I just guessed at a couple. Did not know I knew that much but I guess because I have lived with these guys for so long!

No not bad at all for a girl!
Love the looks and sound of your mac and cheese dish. I will make it as soon as I buy some macaroni! :)

The white beach blew me away!!! Don't recall ever seeing that. Too bad no photos of Charley in the snow!! xo
It amazed me too Trish. Whodda thought we, girls, would know car parts! But you are right, living around men who work on them has probably added to our knowledge! LOL. xo
Well, I was out yesterday getting some essentials. And today at 3ish the snow/rain/sleet starts. The next sunny day will be Friday. Sigh. Ah well, I have good books, taped TV, and the internet to keep me happy. Life ain't so bad after all. Snow in Huntington Beach? Yikes! When I was 6 or 7, 1948/9, it snowed in the San Fernando Valley. My dad took a pic of me in the backyard next to a snowy orange tree. However, that photo is long gone I'm afraid. It would have been a great one to keep. But too many moves! Have a great day and keep your glasses away from Dude, LOL!

P.S. I made my killer chili the other day in the small slow cooker. One small can each red and black beans, some tomato sauce, cooked hamburger, and chili powder. SO good. I reheat with shredded cheddar and drool while I eat it!
V, I remember the snow in January 1949. I woke from my nap and there it was!!! Our Christmas tree was sitting in the backyard and covered with snow, that's how I remember when it was. Daddy and I went in the front yard to "play" in the snow and a neighbor kid, a few years older than me (I was 4) came up and threw a snowball at me. I cried!
That was quite a storm, since you got it in the SF Valley and I lived 2 blocks from Alhambra in El Sereno.
