Good 26º clear frozen morning. Warmed yesterday to the high
60ºs.
Forty one years ago today Jerry and I went on our first date.
He wined me and dined me on lobster and told me a ton of funny stories, so funny
my cheeks hurt from laughing! We were inseparable from then on! Here we are 12
years later on Catalina Island doing range qualifications at the Avalon pistol
range. I was a Reserve and worked then at the BC Range. We'd be flown over to
the island by Jimmy Pierce (LASD ret) in an LASD helicopter, taking with us the
shotguns from Aero Bureau to test. Doing stuff with him was always fun! I
learned so much. ♥♥♥
PICTURE OF THE DAY:
Shared by Dave Clark (LASD ret)
Here is a "thought" shared by Steve '10-30 Dude' Voors (LASD
ret)...
Bruce Jenner had never had an automobile accident until he became a woman
driver!
Yesterday was "mow the grass or else day" ! Went out to start the riding
lawnmower and had a flat tire. Great. Got that fixed, got mower started,
although it was iffy. A LARGE pop sound and it started. Gadz, scared the you
know what out of me! All done now, porch even cleaned off. Back killer. Then it
was time for my CHAIR!
I had a telephone chat with DirecTV. The gal was soooo nice. Her name,
Courtney. She was in Alabama! We had fun talking. I wanted to lower the cost of
my monthly bill. Been a customer for over 10 years and pay too much. Never watch
HBO or Showtime or Cinemax or Starz. I got my cost cut by $100 a month! Yes. I
still get the local channels, east coast, Los Angeles, Hallmark, ESPN, and
really a lot more.

My friend Trish was talking about making stuffed cabbage the
other day. I have an easier way.. just chop it up and layer it. I like making
this either without the meat to go with a St. Paddy's Day Corned Beef or with
some of the corned beef a couple days later...
Lazy Day Stuffed Cabbage
1 head cabbage - chopped
1 cup rice - cooked. About 2½ cups when cooked
1 - 1½ pounds ground pork (or use cooked corned
beef)
1 large onion - chopped
2 cans condensed Campbell's tomato soup
Brown meat and onion. In 4 quart casserole layer the cabbage,
rice, meat ... alternately 2 or 3 times ... starting and ending with cabbage.
Top with undiluted soup that has been mixed smooth in a bow. Bake 350º for an
hour or until hot and cabbage is soft. Serve with mashed potatoes.
MMMMMMMMMMM............ SO GOOD!!!
Dinner was reruns and TV and a good nap in my chair! Today
it's back to the cleaning grind and stacking wood on the porch. Yuck.
All I know. Happy Hump Day. Nuff said. Ciao.

Very cute picture of you and Jerry. I can’t believe you remembered the first date “day”. Impressive. I remember our first date, but not the day.
Stuffed cabbage in a casserole looks tasty, and easy. Will have to try that one day.
Enjoy your day. Jeannie
So cute that pic of you and Jerry. Jerry pretty much looks the same but you look like such a kid. Were you married by then? He must have loved you from the start as evident by dining you on lobster on the first date! lol
Yes, I did make the stuffed cabbage and I really enjoyed but can't say that for my two boys. No they weren't thrilled. I do have the recipe for unstuffed cabbage too but at times you just have to make the real thing. :)
XO Trisha
Oh yes T, we met in 1974 and married in 1975! Flag Day! xo
