Good 37º VERY foggy again morning. It lifted yesterday and we
got lots of sun. Nice. Hope the same for today... looks like it
may..
The top of the news were the killings in France. Nothing in this world is
getting better.... only worse. RESPECT for anyone or anything seems to be lost
to previous generations. So so so sad. Extremism in every part of the world and
it frightens me for the lives of our children and grandchildren and their
children, if the world gets that far! Sigh............
PICTURES OF THE DAY:
Yesterday I finally got to writing my thank you notes. Also
went through a bunch of recipes. Just organizing.
Brian and Jen and the kids were in Redding recently at
In-N-Out and Bri sent these pictures (just to make me jealous!)
They were shopping at World Market and he found this ginormous duck... I
told him I wanted one!
.... and guess what!
And speaking of Sami... she painted this for me for Christmas.
Is she talented or what!
Historically this date....
1904 – The distress signal "CQD" is established only to be replaced
two years later by "SOS".
... odd. What would CQD stand for? "can't quite decide"? "captain quit
driving"? "come quick, danger"?
(.....what a bunch of inept ass holes!)
And births this date include....
1922 – Vincent Gardenia, Italian-born actor (d.
1992)
1929 – Terry Moore, American actress
1948 – Kenny Loggins, American singer
1956 – David Caruso, American actor
1958 – Linda Kozlowski, American actress
... from 1990-2014 married to Paul Hogan.
1966 – Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, American
publicist (d. 1999)
Dinner last night was reruns. Need to cook today. Will come up with
something.

January 7th
National Tempura Day
OH YUMMMMMMMMM.....
TEMPURATempura
is made by battering and deep-frying fish and vegetables. While not a part of
classic sushi, modern sushi chefs have created tempura sushi by rolling a piece
of tempura with rice and seaweed. Chicken, shrimp, squid and sweet potato are
some of the types of tempura rolls that can be found.

Sami did any excellent job with her painting! Very impressive.
That was so not nice of Brian! Now I have to clean off my keyboard.
BTW, I did not comment yesterday and I wanted to tell you Alex is such a beautiful girl. Hope her birthday was grand.
Have a great day. xo
Jeannie
Thanks Jeannie!!! xoxoxo
Very GOOD painting! Nice symmetry- vibrant color- good use of space. Whatever else she does in life- she should paint. We have one similar- which we paid for- will have to send you image to compare.
Respect - what a wonderful concept to have fallen out of vogue. As women are more prone to motivation by 'Love" I wonder how much the femininization of society contributes to this imbalance.
My motto is Love me or Hate me, it doesn't matter. But I will be respected.
Thank you re Sami's painting. Tucker also has an artistic talent. Will have to get some copies of his work.

Isn't Butterfly the little gal who said "I ain't never birthed no babies before"! Gone With The Wind! :) I could have slapped her in that movie. Oh wait! Didn't someone slap her when she got hysterical?
Adorable pic painted by Sami! Yes, very talented for such a little girl!
Oh how mean of Brian and the family to tease you about In & Out!
Actually we have two close by but I save those for a treat. :)

Oh forgot. We have that same big duck! I forget where it came from but will send you a pic of Isabella in my big tub with it. I keep it in the nursery on the changing table.
