Good 42º overcast foggy morning. Got rain about 2pm yesterday
but probably not enough to measure.
THROW BACK THURSDAY...

DANG my Darling was darling!!!
Thanks Onion Mike for this... had seen it before but decided
to share. This baby is thoroughly enjoying the "doggie bath"!!
Historically this date...

suffer 337,000 casualties. Unbelievable!
1918 – The United States House of
Representatives approves the Eighteenth Amendment to enact Prohibition.
1932 – The Chicago Bears defeat the Portsmouth Spartans 9-0 in the first ever NFL Championship Game. Because of ablizzard, the game is moved from Wrigley Field to the Chicago Stadium, the field measuring 80 yards (73 m)

1878 – Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union (d.
1953)
1916 – Betty Grable, American actress (d.
1973)
Died of lung cancer at
56!

He's just gross!
1946 – Steven Spielberg, American film director

..... the next three gag

1963 – Brad Pitt, American actor
Or, maybe it's not Brad but Angelina
that gags me!
1978 – Katie Holmes, American actress
1980 – Christina Aguilera, American singer
Can't even remember the words to our
National Anthem!!! What a self-loving entitled
Hollyweirdo.
Yesterday I made the Sweet & Sour Pork.
I used my favorite Tabasco Spicy Soy Sauce. I also used tomato
paste in a tube and garlic and ginger in a tube.
The pineapple I had was slices, so I drained it and cut it up
along with the onion and bell pepper.
Cut up the pork taking off the fat...
And since I had these in the fridge, I added chopped celery and a
carrot.
The sugars and liquids went into a big bowl and were whisked smooth, then everything else went in and was mixed well and then added to the crockpot.... 8 hours
on low. Stirred it a couple of times.
Why the recipe says to mix all and put in zip bag in freezer.... got me
scratchin'. I suppose if you were making it to cook another time that would be
fine, but ???
At the end of cooking time I mixed the cornstarch with water
and added it to the juices. Cooking another 15 minutes. Made some black rice and
voilá !!!
Very very very tasty!!!!! Will make again! Easy. Yummy. Although, next time
only 5-6 hours in the crockpot.
LOL......
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

Bake Cookies Day
Bake
Cookies Day comes at an opportune time. It arrives amidst the major December
holidays. It serves as a reminder to bake holiday cookies, if you haven't done
so already.
People,
young and old, celebrate this day by baking their favorite cookies. Make a party
of it, and bake cookies in groups with family, friends, kids and grandkids.
Don't stop at baking just one kind of cookies. Plan to bake a number of cookies.
Try a new recipe, or two, or three, or....
If
you bake more than you can eat, good for you! Wrap up gift trays filled with
cookies for friends and neighbors. Most cookies freeze well, too.
Important
Note: I was very surprised that Bake Cookies Day is not immediately followed by
"Eat Cookies Day". I did not even find an Eat Cookies Day. So you can, and
should, eat them
everyday!.

LOL, sounds like my Jerry!!! ox
My mother used to spend a week in the kitchen baking fancy cakes, cookies and fudge. Too much work for me. I bought the cookie dough already made and will make them this weekend. So much easier.
Jerry worked Catalina a few years before John. He worked over there every summer for several weeks for SEB. It was fun to go over to visit him. Once when I was seven months pg with Eric and JJ was a bit over three. Then again when Eric was about three. Fun times.
XO Trisha
T, Jerry and I would take the kids and go over to Avalon evry summer around the 4th of July for a week. Kids loved the freedom of a town 1 mile square. I so miss going there. xo
Baking starts here on Saturday.
Angelina Jolie's film- Unbreakable- it's on the list of must-see films. She came on the scene like a candle testing how fast it could burn out- but she seems to have settled into a life of substance.
I like your crock-pot. I usually prefer more separation of flavors than this cooking method- but as I'm away from home on long days- I'm thinking it would be a wonderful asset to reintroduce to the kitchen.
