another view: CINNAMON PULL APART BREAD
I sent out this recipe I received from
Mr. Food yesterday morning to a few friends and decided I NEEDED to make
it...
1 (16.3-ounce) package refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (8
biscuits)
1 (10.2-ounce) package refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (5
biscuits)
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup
granulated sugar
1/2 cup
raisins
1/2 cup
chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup
confectioners' sugar
4 teaspoons milk
So, naturally I modified the recipe...
and used 2 packages of 8 biscuits. I also used about 3 T of melted butter and 1
cup of chopped pecans...... Also, I had dried blueberries instead of
raisins.
In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar, raisins, nuts, and cinnamon. Sprinkle mixture over biscuit pieces and toss until evenly coated. Place dough into prepared Bundt pan. (You will have to do this with your hands and pull the stuck pieces apart in the process)
Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until center is firm. Let cool 10 to 15 minutes, then invert Bundt pan over a plate to release cinnamon ring.
I didn't do the frosting.... it really
didn't need it!
This is where I pulled off a piece. OH
MY GOSH. SOOOOOO GOOD~!!!!!!
Yesterday the old door came off the barn and the new door is
now visible. A lot of filling in had to be done. Next is paint... Joy. Will have pictures tomorrow....
After the carpenters, John and Rusty left (did a great job by the way!) I
picked up a big dog cage from PJ and Dave. Went to Abby's and ordered a pizza.
Then a quick run to see Turk (runs parts department at Mock's Ford) to drop off
my computer for him to take a look at. Some problems, my fault for downloading
something I shouldn't have! Then back to get the pizza.
Jennifer's pup jumped off her deck yesterday morning, which is
a story up from the ground. Fenced, but large openings in the fence. She is ok,
but that is why I went and got the dog cage from PJ and Dave so she can put the
wild child in that if need be. Since Jennifer was still feeling bad and not in
the mood to cook was the reason I took the pizza. Got the Greek Vegetarian from
Abby's.
Ingredients: artichoke hearts, tomatoes, spinach, red onion, feta cheese, red bell pepper, and 3 cheese blend. I had them cook it "crispy".
OH SO GOOD!!!! We chatted. I didn't get home until after dark and I HATE
driving in the dark!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

Sadi Hawkins Day
Here
is a holiday that originated from a cartoon. It all began in Al Capp's "Lil
Abner Cartoon in the 1930's. In the cartoon series, the mayor of Dogpatch was
desperate to marry off his ugly daughter. So he created Sadie Hawkin's Day. On
this day, a race is held and all the single men were given a short head start.
Then, all the single women, including the mayor's daughter, chased the boys. If
a girl catches her man, he had to marry her.
Sadie
Hawkins Day races and events grew in popularity during the course of All Capp's
long running cartoon. This cartoon made holiday largely died out after 40 years
when the cartoon was discontinued. It can occasionally be seen celebrated on
college campuses.
When
I was in high school we had Sadi Hawkin's Dances.. the girls would ask the boys
to dance. Quite a turnaround!
