Good 40º clear and sunny morning. Predictions for a hotter
day, in the low 80ºs today.

Throw Back Thursday:
This picture taken in 1975 when Jerry and the children and I went on a
camping trip up the California coast. We stopped at this park area by a small
bay. I saw this otter and offered him a piece of bread. He came and took it from
my hand very gently. Then he scooted over by the water to eat it. He came back
for seconds and thirds! The Park Ranger we talked to didn't believe I hand fed a
wild otter. Wish we had digital cameras back then, but this proof was on film
that had yet to be developed! HEY, ask Jeannie... I AM the animal whisperer!
LOL.
I put this video on my blog a year ago, but it warrants another look. Keep
the Kleenex close... happy tears

think at least one of them
would have seen it.
Phone answering machine message - '...If you want to buy marijuana,
press the hash
key...'
A guy walks into the psychiatrist wearing only gladwrap for shorts.
The shrink says, 'Well, I can
clearly see you're nuts.'

Yesterday I paid bills.... whoopee. Mowed the lawn.... whoopee. Stayed
pretty cool and I was in sweats in the house with warm socks on!!
Ok, so dinner at Rue 26. Mike and Laurie:
and Tom and I (NOT a date!!! Just mutual friends with Mike! DON'T go
there!!)
When I first arrived I was early so sat in the bar and had a glass of wine.
A couple sat down next to me. He looked OLD. Had long hair, ponytail, gray
beard, etc. (You Wilsonites will get a kick out of this) After a little chatter
found out he graduated from Compton High in 1963! (I graduated from Wilson in 1963) He even went to Lincoln High
for a while. LOL, small world. Anyway ....
I ordered the Grilled Sockeye Salmon with chile lime butter sauce, grilled
asparagus-zucchini-carrots, with herbed saffron basmati rice. OMGOOOOOD!!!
The food was good and so was the wine, but the restaurant is so dark and
gloomy inside. Especially the bar area. Didn't like that. For breakfast
yesterday I had the leftovers with an egg...
Thursday Night Football:
Who are you rooting for?
A special birthday today is friend Terri Prim, who was the station secretary at Avalon
Station. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRI!!!
I LOVE this picture of you Terri!!!
Historically this date...
1789 – George Washington sends the proposed Constitutional amendments
(The United States Bill of
Rights) to the States
for ratification.
1919 – U.S. President Woodrow Wilson suffers a massive stroke, leaving him
partiallyparalyzed.
And births this date
include...
1890 – Groucho Marx, American comedian and actor (d.
1977)
1895 – Bud Abbott, American comedian and actor (d.
1974)
.... and it seems he died broke and
friendless. You can read a sad story written about him in 1960:
1928 – George "Spanky"
McFarland, American
actor (d. 1993)
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

National Name Your Car Day
I've named mine 'Shadow'...
Name Your Car Day is today. Does your car have a name? Lots of people name their cars. People with big boats, name their boat, and we think nothing of it. So, why not name your car or truck!?
Every
car has character and personality. We spend a lot of time in our cars, and
caring for them. So, its only fitting that each car gets its own name.
Selecting
a name should be made with care and consideration. Give your car a name that
properly reflects its character. What you name you car should be a proper
reflection of its character and performance, and your desires for your car. In
general, guys names are for guys' cars, and girl names are for the cars that you
ladies drive. Aside from that, selection of a name is wide open. But, be
careful....cars have feelings, too.
Here
are some of our thoughts in selecting an appropriate name for your car:
- Don't select wimpy names. That might give your car a personality complex and it will perform accordingly.
- Do give a strong, aggressive name to sports cars and cars with powerful engines.
- Sleek, sexy feline-like cars savor names that begin with "lady".
- Old junkers are proud just to be around. You can call them just about anything. Try "Tramp", or "Old Yeller", "Old Blue".
- Pick names to reflect your personality.
- "Pickemup" trucks must have country names.
- Don't give common names (like Joe, Mike or Sue) to luxury cars. They beam over names like Reginald, Archibald, and Crystal.

Groucho Marx was a huge impact on my life - for immortalizing the song 'Lydia the Tattooed Lady'.
If I don't get my car painted soon, might have to name her 'Rusty'
I just call mine "my office". when Dave goes with I have to clear a seat for him. -- p.j.
