Good 46º cooler morning. Still cloudy and drizzly. Since
yesterday morning we've gotten another 1/2" of rain. Comes and goes. Has been
very gloomy and very windy! Leaves EVERYWHERE!!!
Yesterday was canning day... Jeannie and Bill gave me a bunch
of green and red tomatoes... I canned 15 pints and 1 quart of my specialty
(Uncle Lloyd's recipe) of pickled green tomatoes with garlic and jalapeños. I
didn't have enough jars so had to make a dash to town to get more and some
garlic.
The recipe ... sterilize jars and lids. Cut and add tomatoes, garlic, and
jalapeño to jars. For 5 minutes boil 2 quarts of water, 1 quart of white
vinegar, and 1 cup of canning salt. Pour into jars, screw lids on, and the will
seal as they cool. This way the tomatoes don't get mushy and stay crispy. Brian
used to like just the garlic so I would can just garlic for him!
Next is green tomato soup with bacon. Hmmmm... another experiment! I have
some ideas and will cook it in the crockpot.
Today is a friend's birthday... Mr. Kio
Ebrahimzadeh! Happy 44th Birthday kiddo! (44 is a great caliber!) And I wish you
many many more. You have gone through a lot with the brain cancer and are a
miracle!! Amazing, you were born on the Shah's birthday! I'm sure that made your
grandfather happy!!! Love to you! xo

Giants and 49ers have byes this week. I'm being kind... good
luck Bears.
Good luck to all!!!
Watching a show last night called Unwrapped. It was all about
how Mar's Candy in Waco Texas makes the Snickers Bar. There are 28 peanuts (give
or take a couple) in each bar. I LOVE Snickers!!! Chocolate, caramel, nouget,
and peanuts! YUMMMM
Also watched most of the SF Giants and KC Royals game last night. The
outcome made SF fans happy... What a game! SF 11 - KC 4. Now all tied up after 4
games. Today is game 5 from AT&T Ballpark in SF. Then onto KC! Should be
interesting.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

Pretzel Day
Mmmmmm..... love love love those big soft ones!!!!
It is generally believed that the humble pretzel is the oldest of all snack
foods, with documented consumption of pretzels dating back as far as the 7th
century AD, where French monks baked salted dough strips shaped like the arms of
children in prayer.
Whether you like yours sweet, salty, covered in chocolate, or flavored with
herbs and spices, Pretzel Day is all about enjoying the humble pretzel in all of
its shapes, sizes, flavors, and
styles.

What a beautiful and interesting blog today. Now I can go to class and church in a proper frame of mind. Blessings, my friend.
So Hil liar y is a Scorpio. Funny I know many good, decent Scorpio people. In Linda Goodman's book it says there are Scorpio people who are eagles and some are scorpians. My mother was an eagle but we all kbow that Hil liar y is a scorpian!
It's that phony kackle of hers that make me want to put my fingers in my ears!!
Beautiful canning job!!! Yum yum!!
