Good 49º morning. Can smell smoke, but sky is pretty clear.
The fire on Onion Mountain, near Jennifer, has only grown by a couple hundred
acres but still 0% contained. She is at a level 1 evacuation alert. If it goes
to level 3 she will have to leave. There is a fire just out of Portland and one
in Weed, No. Ca., and I-5 through that area is closed. It has destroyed a
church, homes, and a lumber yard. So so frightening.
PICTURE OF THE DAY ... oops..

Yesterday I was in a funk and didn't want to do much. Did finally get off
the old butteroo and vacuumed and dusted.
I love Good Earth Green Tea with Lemongrass, but they don't make it
anymore. So UPS Dave delivered a new tea I am trying:
I made some and I like it.
Found some breaded veal patties in the freezer so decided to cook them
along with some quinoa and veggies...
I peeled and sliced the garlic and sauteéd it in a little olive oil until
just browned and crunchy. (Tasted a couple pieces.. yummmm)
Then into the rice cooker went the quinoa, the rice blend, artichoke
hearts, garlic, diced chilies, cilantro, and mushrooms. Sauteéd the veal
patties, cut up the tomato, voilá... dinner~!
Outside at 5:30 the smoke was there, either from the Onion Mountain Fire
but probably from the Happy Camp fire...
While I was taking pictures these two
woodpeckers were squawking when I would whistle to them and bob their heads up
and down ... funny.
I had the sprinklers on and you can see Mr. Woodpecker sitting on the
birdbath enjoying the sprinkles!
My Mr. Dude comfy and half napping while I watched football...
This game was a surprise... right at the very end! There were two ref calls
that were BAD against the Colts. They should have been reviewed. Coach should
have requested it! Sorry Bri :-(
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.
