Good 55º smokey morning.
Yesterday morning... beautiful....
(and yes, I know it looks like the barn is leaning, but it's really not)
First photo 7:30, second one 8:30.
So, by 2pm it was 96º and every time I'd go outside I'd melt! I would do a
minor project and come back into the nice cool house. Even was too hot for
Bruiser, who spread out on the cool kitchen floor! By 3pm it was horribly smokey
and the heat was 100.4º I can't see the difference between yesterday afternoon
and this morning.
The rain we were supposed to get yesterday never appeared. We did have a loud clap of thunder about 9pm and then at midnight a long rolling thunder. Scared Dude!
My heart broke when I heard about Robin Williams death. He lived in
Tiburon, north of San Francisco, close to where my sister Marion used to live.
The man had so much talent and was so liked and loved by so many. His neighbors
said he wasn't pretentious and was downright friendly to everyone. RIP
Robin!

I received an email that was about Hillary Rodham (Clintoon)
being fired for being a liar during the Watergate investigation. I though it
might be a hoax email, but no...

Here is a 1976 interview with The Duke, aka John Wayne aboard his boat The
Wild Goose.
My friend Sid Hackel (LASD SR Captain), whose brother was John Wayne's
official photographer, used to go with the Duke fishing on his boat. He always
had great stories ...

Middle Child's Day
Betty Marion Me
Middle Child's Day gives a little well deserved recognition to
the wonderful and special middle child in the family.
For parents of three children, you likely know the "Middle Child
Syndrome" all too well. If you grew up the middle child with both older and
younger siblings, you know the feeling a from a very personal perspective.
The first child is the first child. Beyond a doubt, the first born is
a very special occasion. And he, or she, has all of mom and dad for a while
before the second child comes along. The final child is and always will be the
baby of the family.
This author knows what its like to be a middle child. We won't go
into a dissertation about what Middle Child Syndrome is. Rather, we will focus
upon one aspect. Older and younger children tend to be more outgoing, or
extroverted. The middle Child tends to be more introverted, quieter, perhaps a
bit of a loner.
It is very fair and fitting that we celebrate, and place into the
limelight, the middle child today. Go out and enjoy this day to the fullest.
Tell the world about it. Be a little outspoken, and let the world know how great
it is to be the middle child. YOU truly are a wonderful, talented, ad special
person!
Happy Middle Child's
Day to all of my fellow middle
children!
