Father's Day ~ Jury Duty ~ Exercise ~ Julie Moran ~ Night Shift ~ Lobster Tail

Good 44º clear sunny morning. Pressure dropping slightly. Stayed cloudy on and off yesterday... only they were the high cirrus clouds..

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

LOL, 1947 Christmas morning... and Daddy with his tie on.. smoking a cigar (IN THE HOUSE!). I do recall not long after that time he stopped his cigar smoking and didn't drink alcohol either. Something changed his mind... maybe it was having a baby girl in the house again!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY!!!!

Today we will be celebrating Father's Day at Brian and Jen's.
I wonder if this 'tent' will still be up. This was the first day of vacation for Tucker and Sami. They were having fun while mom caught up on chores!

Jury Duty... I was thinking about this last night.... My Dad, who was out-spoken, was picked for the Sirhan Sirhan jury. After being questioned by the DA and defense he was excused. He certainly was happy about that as it would have meant driving to LA every day and who knows about being sequestered also. No cameras were allowed in the courtroom, so an artist did drawings. My Dad's picture was on the front page of the LA Times. Mom, on the other hand was sweet and kind and loving and she got on juries because they figured she could be easily swayed. She was and the last jury she was on, she hung the jury! Mom! Then Jerry got jury duty summons for ELA court. He worked close by, so he wore his uniform to the courthouse. He was excused! I was picked for jury duty in Pasadena. Questioned about any relationship with law enforcement. "Yes, my husband is a Deputy. I am a Reserve Deputy and a 911 & Calls for Service Operator." "Mrs. Maxwell, do you think police lie?" "Do lawyers lie?" (smiling and giggling to myself!) "No, Mrs. Maxwell, do police lie?" "Why should they? If the suspect doesn't go to jail today there is always tomorrow, and as you well know, if a crime is committed, then the suspect will do it again." "Thank you Mrs. Maxwell." I was not put on the jury, but made an alternate. LOL!!!! I was called to jury duty up here in Medford, questioned about my background, and excused. "They" sure don't like strong people or cops on juries!  Nuff......

PICTURE of the day...

Dinner last night was tuna casserole on top of fresh chopped up veggies (carrots, tomatoes, celery, and zucchini). Watched one of my new favorite shows, Night Shift, I had recorded from last Tuesday on ABC.
(click the links for more info)
OH NOOOO... a pig loose in a hospital~! LOL

Being my wedding anniversary it was a rather lonesome evening. Sigh... Good thing the Bruise and Dude kept me company and I got to chat with pal Nancy!

All I know. Nuff said. Have a great day. Ciao

June 15th
National Lobster Day

Cut the top side of the lobster tail from end to end. Pull out the meat and set it on top. Brush with clarified butter* and sprinkle with paprika. Bake in pre-heated oven at 400º 15-18 minutes. PERFECT every single time~!!

*Melt butter over medium heat and simmer a few minutes until you can see the solids separating. With a spoon skim off the solids. Voilá... clarified butter.

Love the jury duty stories. Love being on juries as long as it's in Pomona, close by. The last jury I was shocked that they accepted me what with my law enforcement connections and it was a criminal trial.
While answering questions I have had defense lawyers wink at me! LOL Knew I was a gonner then! lol

Love the pic of Bruiser on your lap.

Just occurred to me that I still have some lobster tails in the freezer from Omaha. They are so little. Guess I should cook them soon.

John has been waiting for this day so he could go to Home Depot and buy a new BBQ. They are supposed to be on sale now.

Have a great time today with the kids!
