Good 51º some high clouds out there morning. Yesterday I turned on the AC in the afternoon for
the first time this year. Rain predicted by Saturday, then on Sunday and Monday.
Honest, I didn't wash my truck!
Throw Back Thursday.... Sandy (Todoran) Beck (Wilson High pals) and I in
1986 at the Sheriff's Department Chili Cook-off at Wayside in front of the BC
Range booth....which was called "De-Ranged Chili" !
Yesterday Rick came back and finished the upper pasture. He did a GREAT job.
All ready for summer now. Well, still have to spray weeds and do some stuff
in the garden. Need to find a guy/gal who wants to mow once a week for me and
keep up my front and backyard. Any suggestions out there RR people?
I fixed breakfast.... just an odd creation. First I broke up some
asparagus, put it in a pan with water, olive oil, and a tad of sea salt. Cooked
a few minutes. Drained out water, added two eggs and put on lid to cook until
done the way I like. Tossed in a few grape tomatoes at the last couple minutes.
Set on cutting board with lid and let slightly cool.
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMY!!!!!!
Now dinner was just odd... I had some artichoke/chicken sausage in the
freezer. Put it in crockpot with some low sodium chicken stock, cooked a couple
hours on high. Added in two cups Quinoa, more chicken stock to accommodate, a
can of Cannellini beans. Let cook another couple hours. Then added chopped
cilantro, chopped cabbage, edamame, and a bag of mixed (carrots, peas,
cauliflower, & broccoli) veggies...
How easy is that! Just dump anything
that's in the cupboard/refrigerator/freezer you need to get rid of into the old
crockpot and BAM! Dinner! OMGOOD too!!!

Peace Officers Memorial Day
Thank
you to all of those who have served in law enforcement... from the tan &
green to the blue. All heroes in my book, including my late husband Jerry ♥ and
my daughter Kristen! So proud of what you did Kristen!
♥
Peace Officer's Memorial Day honors and remembers police officers who
gave their lives while on duty.
Peace officers protect us 24/7 every day of the year. It's a sometimes
dangerous job. They know they are putting their lives at risk to make and keep
us safe. Police officers know the risks, and accept them. Sometimes, they pay
the ultimate price.
Please show our respect and appreciation for police officers
everywhere...today....and everyday.
Ways to participate in this day:
- Show appreciation for police officers.
- Make a donation to a police officer fund or memorial
- Participate in activities honoring officers who have died on duty.
- Better still, create a memorial event, if there isn't one in your area.
- Thank your police officers for a job well done.
When I was working the
desk (911 & calls for service) at ELA Station, I had a similar bumper
sticker...it said "Call 911 - I make cops come" ... Well......................
one of the really prudish beeotchy secretaries (who should have NEVER been
working in a male dominated environment) complained to the Capt about the bumper
sticker. Swell. Called into Captain's office. He apologized, and I said, "for
him" I'd remove it so the sophomoric little girl would get off his
back!
Geesh! Everyone else liked
it!

Your pasture is beautiful! Wish I lived closer- I would let my puppies ride on the mower with me.
I think Lee Horsley is a distant relative of Edda's.
Your pups could ride on the golf cart! They would love that.
Lee was a handsome guy. Too bad he got older!!!

Just love the photo of you at the Chili Cookoff! What a CUTIE!! The name for the booth was brilliant!!
I must say that I was furious at those parents who let their little girl of 16 go it alone on that little boat! She did run into trouble and had to be rescued. Pirates, storms, etc. I didn't think they would ever see her again. :(
A few years ago John and I were standing in the State Capitol Bldg.in Sacramento watching the hundreds of Harley's coming over the bride to the Capitol for Peace Officer's Memorial Day. Of course he kept running into people he knew on that trip.
XO Trisha
Thanks T!!
Jerry and I went on the Sacramento Peace Officer Memorial Run a few times.

LOL Sue I always come back to read the other comments after I've commented. Too bad there isn't an "editing" tab for correcting. Those Harley's were coming over the BRIDGE, not the bride! LOL I know you know what I meant but I thought I would mention it!!
XO Trisha
I read what you meant and didn't see the typo! LOL
