Good 44º clear morning. By Monday it's 80% chance it's going to rain. Still haven't washed my truck!

Look at my pretty girl Alex.... and her handsome date, Eli, for the prom last night...

This is quite a video... Viet Nam vets released from prisons in 1973. A dinner at the White House hosting them. One man said there were celebrities... and John Wayne sat at his table. He was beyond words. His hero sitting at his table... and to the Duke, this man was his hero! Thanks Dave Clark (LASD ret) for sharing this!

Yesterday I was lazy. I worked on some jewelry. I scrubbed a portion of carpet that Dude had an "accident" on. Chore! "Make you poop outside" ? Yes! But, sometimes accidents happen. Darn.

I killed some weeds in the garden and then called Ted of Evans Pest Control. He will be out to spray all the weeds and the berry bushes as well as the creek bed. I am just not up to it! Did some laundry. Watered the grass. Big over the top exciting day!

Easy Swedish Meatballs

1½ pound lean ground beef

1 pkg (6oz) Stove Top stuffing mix for pork

2 eggs, beaten

1 small onion, finely chopped

1¼ cups water

1 jar (12oz) beef gravy

½ cup sour cream

Heat oven to 400º. Mix meat, stuffing, eggs, onions, and water until just blended. Shape into 32 meatballs, about 1" in diameter. Place on foil lined 13x9 pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 20 minutes, until done. (160º)

Mix gravy and sour cream in large saucepan. Add meatballs to even coat. Cook on low for 5 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Spoon each serving of the meatballs over 1/2 cup of hot cooked egg noodles. Serve with cooked fresh green beans.

ARMED FORCES DAY

Third Saturday in May

This is simply a day to salute sharply to all of the men and women in all branches of the service who protect our country and you. They can be called upon at a moment's notice to perform a risky and perilous mission for freedom and country. They train diligently both physically and mentally so they will be prepared to prevail in any mission they face.

Just how did it all begin? Well, each branch of the military had their own day of celebration. But, on August 31, 1949 then Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of Armed Forces Day. President Harry Truman also announced the holiday in a presidential proclamation on February 20, 1950. All branches of the military were asked to celebrate on this day and they complied on the first Armed Forces Day which was held the following year on May 20, 1950.
