A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her
husband. Suddenly, her husband burst into the kitchen. 'Careful,' he said,
'CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my gosh! You're cooking too many at once.
TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my gosh! WHERE are
we going to get MOR E BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful. CAREFUL! I said
be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry
up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know
you always forget to salt them. Use the! salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!'
The wife stared at him. 'What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?'
The wife stared at him. 'What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?'
The husband calmly replied, 'I just wanted to show you what
it feels like when I'm driving.'

My friend
Trish (married to John Bowler LASD ret) sent the following recipe for "Chicken
Roll Ups".... sounds great! She said "Oh so good and oh so super easy too." (T,
I upped the amount of chicken and the amount of cheese!)
Ingredients:
1½ cups
cooked chicken breast, chopped or shredded (or thighs) ... good use for leftover
chicken....
1 can
crescent rolls
1 can cream
of chicken soup
½ cup
milk
1 cup grated
cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven
to 350º. Lightly coat 9x13 pan with cooking spray.
Mix together
soup, milk, and cheese. Set aside. Separate crescent rolls into 8 triangles. Top
the large part of each triangle with the chicken. Top each crescent roll with 1
T. of the soup mixture. Roll up the crescent rolls. Spread approximately 1/3 cup
of the soup mixture in the bottom of the pan. Place crescent tolls on top of
soup mixture. Pour remaining soup mixture over rolls. (Top with more
cheese!)
Bake 30
minutes, or until bubbly.
Now,
if you know me you know I only follow recipes for cakes and pies... baked goods.
Never for casseroles etc. You could get creative and add in any number of
veggies... your favs... cut up green beans, peas, shredded carrots, broccoli,
cauliflower (some of the orange or the green cauliflower would be fun!) ...
mushrooms (sauteéd first), creamed corn, salsa.... You could also add chopped
crispy bacon to the chicken mixture.

Yesterday I went through old photos ... 1984-1989. OM~
Then I had washed dishes in the dishwasher, opened it to take them out and
the rubber seal was laying in the dishwasher on the top shelf and hanging down.
What? Called Sears and the lady screamed! She had NEVER heard of that before!
So, a service guy was to come out yesterday and fix it. He did. Carl arrived
about 2pm. He said he had NEVER seen that before either! Anyway, fixed.
Then about 4pm Jake, my electrician, arrived and put up new lights on the
outside of the house. They come on at dusk and go off at sunrise. This gives me
a view of the driveway since it's usually so pitch black out there. These are
special lights that should last 20 years. I have similar lights on the pump
house and each end of the barn.
Last night I had a long and great conversation with a girl who graduated
high school a year before I did, Georgia Craig. She was a beauty and so nice.
Now living in N. Carolina. She made me laugh, "nice place to visit but you
wouldn't want to live here!" They moved back there because that is where the
grandchildren are.... identical twin boys, 6 years old, I think! Great talking
to you Georgia. We'll do it again when you get back home from your California
trip!
All I know. Happy TGIF. Nuff said. Bill pay day. UGH. Ciao.

National Something On A Stick Day
So
what comes on a stick? Practically anything. The first thing that comes to mind
is popsicles and fudgecicles. Hotdogs are poplar on a stick at campfires.
There's also corndogs, and shrimp and many Chinese treats. Cocktail wieners and
cheese are picked and eaten on a stick(a toothpick). And don't forget those
olives in a martini!
You
can also get just about anything on a stick when receiving food samples at a
store or festival.

I knew you would have some suggestions of what to add to the chicken roll ups. Next time I will add some mixed veggies so it tastes like a pot pie.
Where did you get the pic of them on the blue/white plate?
Strange that happened to your new dishwasher! We had to have the rubber around the door of our Sub Zero frig replaced a few years back. It was not cheap! :(
Always something, huh?
