Good 32º extremely gloomy foggy morning! YUCK.
Today is
a special birthday..... Marie Maxwell, bride of Aaron. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIE!!!
After letting Dude and Bruiser out and in several times I left and
headed to Patty and Cliff's. PJ and Dave were there. We had cocktails while
Patty slaved over a turkey dinner in the kitchen. PJ and I supervised! LOL. They
all had dinner but I came home, still full from Jen's breakfast. Put a snuggy
fire in the wood stove and watched TV while being a pig and eating chips and
dip! OINK.
Born the day after
Christmas, her name is pronounced
"Mary" with the
middle name of "Cris".

Yesterday morning I headed to Brian and Jen's early... just after
8. Jen fixed a mouth-watering breakfast and we had presents. Jen's mom Jean and
her brother Jimmy (from Alhambra CA) were there. We had a great time. The kids
got iPad minis from Santa. We watched "It's A Wonderful Life" (in COLOR!). I
headed home early afternoon.
(OH look, it's Maxwell the Geico pig! Giggle.....)
I talked with Kristen, Alex, and Jack and it sounded like they had
a nice Christmas too. (look forward to pictures!) Kristen posted that she
learned to make pasole yesterday.
That can be made with chicken or pork or turkey for that matter. Or
ham, even.... Hominy, chilis, sliced radishes, cabbage, garlic, oregano,
cilantro, cumin, chicken stock, cubed cheese..... lime wedges...... Your recipe,
please, Kristen!

Happy Birthday Marie!
Your breakfast looked spectacular yesterday. You all were having so much fun. So nice to have family close by. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks Jeannie, yes it was nice. Got lots of love from the kids!!! xoxo
Sue, love seeing your Smilebox with the kids! I enjoyed yesterdays walk down memory lane with the pics from past Christmases. Didn't see it until this morning as yesterday there wasn't time be be online.
Do they do presents after breakfast at Jen and Brian's? We always do a huge breakfast first. I guess it taught the kids patience. lol
Love love pasole! Depending on which part of Mexico a person is from is how they make it. Becky's mom makes it with whole chicken pieces. However, they all put those toppings on. I have made it myself but why bother when Juanita's in a can is excellent! :)
HUGS and glad you had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did! So blessed!
XO Trisha
Merry Christmas to YOU,
I loved the Smilebox. Such a cute way to capture and your photos. You have such beautiful Grandkids. And you look wonderful Sue!!
Take care, Gail
Trish... the kids opened their stockings and then had breakfast before more presents.... They also got some Christmas Eve. I have never made pasole, but think I will. I do like Juanita's foods, but will go the whole route! Yes, Blessed for sure!! xoxo
Gail, so sweet of you. Thank you. xoxo
