Good 39º morning. No rain yet, but was cool for the
trick-or-treaters. 80% chance of rain tonight and 100% tomorrow.
HOLY COW it's NOVEMBER! UGH............... so
soon.
I'm sad, because now iGoogle is gone. That was my fav... will have to uses
other apps now. Darn.
Got this from Dale Yellin.... so true, made me
laugh!
Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about
Obamacare: "We have to pass it, to find out
what's in it"
A physician called into a radio show and said, "That
is the definition of a stool sample."
That pretty much sums it up!
Rick and
Lynda Castro (ret LASD) are celebrating their 21st anniversary! HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY KIDS!!!
Yesterday I had Chim-Chiminey Sweepers here to clean out my stove and
chiminey. Constantin Hartmann and Brian Stivers (love the hat
Brian!)
"Soot yourself or
call Chim-Chiminey Sweepers"
"A cure for the
flue"
These
guys were awesome! They inspected and cleaned out the stove and chiminey and
Brian fixed the seal on the door. (no extra charge!) Fast. Efficient. If you
have a stove/fireplace you need it cleaned. Call them at 541-476-0941 or
541-734-9544
Constantin said I
was a "good burner"... I'm taking that to mean I don't burn trash or garbage in
the stove...only good hard wood (oak and madrone) that burns
and doesn't leave a lot
of soot.
Historically this
date....
1800 – US President
John
Adams becomes the first President of the United States to live in the
Executive Mansion (later renamed the White
House).
1941 – American
photographer Ansel
Adams takes a picture of a moonrise over the town of
Hernandez, New
Mexico that would become one of the most famous images in the history of
photography.
I have
some of his photos and this one never impressed me. I like many of his other
photos... especially the Yosemite series...
1960 – While campaigning
for President of the United States, John
F. Kennedy announces his idea of the Peace
Corps.
1982 – Honda becomes the first
Asian automobile company to produce cars in the United States with the opening
of their factory in Marysville, Ohio. The
Honda
Accord is the first car produced there.
And
births this date include...
Before I went to
Brian and Jen's yesterday I went into town to pick up a package at the post
office. Lo and behold, these strange people stopped me...
Debbie the Fairy,
PJ the Skunk, Dave ("I'm too old to dress up"), some hay filled guy, and PatC
the Cowgirl. They were in town to see what was going on.... most of the
businesses gave out candy to the kids from 4pm ..... Kids and costumes were
everywhere...
Yesterday I made
deviled eggs to take to Brian and Jen's Halloween party. I cooked some Tyson
chicken tenders and put them in the little crockpot to stay warm. Took salsa and
guacamole for dipping. Everyone brought food. Jen had a mountain of food...rice,
beans, roast beef, homemade guacamole... there were meatballs and chicken
casserole, and plates of 'eyeballs' and fingers (carrots and almond slices for
the nails)
veggies and dips,
brownies, etc. LOTS to eat. I am going to make a Smilebox when I have an extra
minute. Probably on blog tomorrow... Here's a few pictures...
Brian and Sami
testing the fog machine... that's Sami's pumpkin...
Tucker and the
pumpkin he carved himself...
Brian was one of
the Three Musketeers ... Sami, as Periwinkle (Tinkerbell's sister) draws a
moustache on her dad...
GREAT party Jen.
You outdo yourself each time! xo
All I
know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF! Ciao.

Thank you for starting my day with a laugh and enjoyment. That table of food- we do need to stop and enjoy life more often.
Boy, they grow up too quick, don't they L!! xo
Lydia is right. Sami looks so grown up in that pic. Brian reminded me of a Marine standing at attention. :)
