Good 48º (summer?) foggy morning. 15º warmer than
it's been in the morning. Must be the cloud cover keeping the heat in. Or as Al
Bore said, global warming. Or... as PJ says "globalwarmingmyass" ~!!
LOL
So far I've taken 1000 pictures with my new camera.
There are still so many things I don't know about it yet. Complicated and lots
to read in the instruction book. Just found out how to change the time... and
how to take rapid photos of action. Still working on the lighting.
PICTURE of the day (Just for you Linda Nantz! Her bucket
list travel spot)
Machu Picchu Peru...
Notice the llamas resting on the grass...
http://umpquaoats.com/index.php I
thought it was a local product, as we have Umpqua Oregon, Umpqua River, Umpqua
Bank and Umpqua National Forest... it's an Indian word. But, this company was
started in Las Vegas! You shake the box, add hot water, put on the lid, and let
it steep for 2-3 minutes. YUMMMMY!!! I had some this morning with my Greek
yogurt w/spinach & kale on a rice cake, and coffee.
For a quick and easy 270 calorie breakfast, the oats are
great. Check your Costco or... Amazon.com
LOL..... (thanks Ron Wisberger ... LASD ret. for
this)
Then................. Lynn Helbing (ret LASD) sent this.
What a riot. I watched, sang along, and am still chuckling.. "long in the
tooth", eh Lynn?
"Enjoy this to the max, even though El Presidente may
not! Little did the Platters know in 1955 that this song would be so popular and
appropriate in 2013, 58 years later. You folks of longer tooth will remember the
words and will probably be singing along with the Platters.
Jeannie and I were talking about run-ins with critters
that make us cringe or scream. She had a mouse climb up on the bed in a motel
once. SCREAM! When I first moved here I kept my bread in a bottom drawer in the
kitchen. Not knowing anything about country living or critters and didn't know
they can get inside your house......well, I opened the drawer and there was a
mouse eating on a hamburger bun, INSIDE the bag! SCREAM! I think he screamed
too. He ran. I picked up the bun and sprayed it with a clear polyurethane
coating. Still have it. (19 years!)
Jeannie thinks I'm weird. Probably so. It was just one
of those things I kept! I can still see the little mouse munching
away!
Today is my high school pal's hubby's birthday.... Tom
Graves, infamous husband of the amazing Adele Easton W'63 Wilson High School. (started dating 52 years ago? !)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!
Historically this date...
1860 – Abraham Lincoln, the former
Illinois congressman defeated three other candidates for the U.S.
presidency.
..................as you can see I have a MONOPOLY board
collection. My original was our family's with wooden 'hotels' and 'houses' and
metal playing objects...
1944 – Plutonium is first produced
at the Hanford Atomic Facility and subsequently
used in the Fat
Man atomic
bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan.
And

All I know. Happy Hump Day. Nuff said. Ciao.

Good morning.
Well, you ended with nachos, I will start with nachos. Let's go get some! They look sooooo good.
Thanks for the reminder of "hump day"! They did need a little privacy you know. giggle
Can't wait to try the oats. Sound really good. Not so sure about your rice cake, but I have never tried the greek yogurt spread, so no comment. LOL
The saved bun????? Yikes Gives me the willies. I can so picture the little critter feasting.
The picture of Peru is absolutely beautiful. Okay, going back to read history stuff.
Thanks for the blog, chat later, xo
Jeannie
J, I think we'd have to make our own nachos to get ones that looked this good. xo
Thank you for the laughs on "camel" day):-
One of my favorite pictures of Gerry is him riding atop one over the sands in Egypt. He was wearing the native headgear- such a tourist.
L, would love to see the picture of Gerry. I have always wanted to go see the pyramids and ride camels ever since my 5th grade teacher showed us a picture of her doing that. xo
