Good 23º morning. Looks like it might warm to the low 50º this
week and not be as cold... maybe in the high 30º to low 40º. FROZEN:
After the first night's freeze I remembered my Christmas Cactus was still
on the porch. Dummy me! Poor little guy, he's toast! No blooms this Christmas!
Five years ago today my Yukon passed away. He was such a love.
"Tripod" as Jerry called him. Had left rear leg amputated after being thrown
from a moving pickup truck up in Idaho. Came to live with us because his 'dad'
was driving cross country in big rigs. I put his bed in the kitchen and he LOVED
it! He could run like any 4-legged dog and swim as well. Spoiled that boy. So
deserved. So miss that guy! RIP Yukie-Boy!
Then last night I had a dream about my Maggie. She came running to me when
I called her. She was so happy and wiggly and sooooo soft and young. I know she
was letting me know, through my dream, she was OK. Sigh.... still tear up
missing her. Here is my Maggs and my Alex .... (Awwwww)
Ok, on a lighter note... here is a video of puppies learning to howl.
Thanks Mike C for this! It will put a big smile on your face.. well, unless you
hate puppies and are a GRUMP!
Had some visitors yesterday....
Football OMG..................
Sorry Alex for your Dolphins, Suz & Phil your Bears, Kristen & Olga your Jets, and Bri your Colts...... really too bad about the Giants...not!
I am just EXHAUSTED from my Pat's win!!! Wow, what a game. Peyton gave it
his all, but didn't get the cigar!!!! Had a great warm snuggy fire in the wood
stove and I'm sure you could hear me yelling!!! YES!
Tonight your team goes at it, Jeannie!
Sooooo....... dinner... since it was 'sardine day' yesterday I made one of
those Alton Brown avocado/sardine sandwiches! (I know I know... some of you
don't like sardines... so? I do! You can keep that "ewwwww" and opinion to
yourself!)
Cut the avocado into 4ths, they peel so much easier that way.... mash it up
and add a dollop of mayo..... salt and pepper if you wish and/or garlic powder
or garlic salt or Lawry's Seasoned Salt...whatever....
Top the bread, in this case soft sweet onion bagels, with the avocado, add
the broken up sardines, top with cheese. Make a dirty martini (with my pickled
green tomatoes) and voilá.
Outstandingly GOOD!!!
Now for you pickyickys... top it with cooked crisp bacon instead!

November 25th
National Parfait Day.
A parfait consists of layers of ice cream, whipped cream, and any
combination of syrups and fruits. Yes, it's basically a fancy word for a
sundae. And, it's usually served in a fancy glass.
Celebrate this day by eating Parfaits. While chocolate is by far the favorite, use your imagination to create a wide range of single and mixed flavors.

Hi, Sue!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful birthday wishes. We went to Las Vegas for 2 days to celebrate. It was pouring rain, very windy, cold (but not as cold as what you have been experiencing)...and we had a great time!
I will send a photo of us to you.
I love you, my wonderful friend.
Love,
Grace
Glad you had a good time!!! I look forward to the picture!!! xoxoxoxo Love you too. Laughlin? We will have a good visit!! xo
Oh my! FIVE years ago Yukon passed away??? OMG! No way does it seem that long ago!!
Strange you would dream about Maggie on this date, huh, and not Yukon.
I'm with you re Carrie Nation! She even looks like an old ugly bitchie lady! Once when I had sent out announcements for a dinner mtg for our club I had included that wine would be served at the tables. Some old gal who had made a reservation wrote and told me she had planned to bring her recovering alcoholic son but because of the wine she was canceling! Then she lectured ME about drinking and even mailed me a temperance pamphlet!!!! I never responded!! GAWD!!!
XO Trisha
T, people need to worry about their own lives instead of trying to run other's. I agree... GAWD!
