Full Moon ~ Badge 714 ~ Richardson for Gov ~ Alex Jack ~ Rice Veggies Meatballs ~ Radios

Good 55º full moon day.

Early yesterday morning when I was laying in bed awake at 5am...ugh... I was looking up at the ceiling and my projection clock... it then dawned on me, pun, that the reason Jack Webb, aka Joe Friday, had badge 714 was because it's 417 backwards! Ya think???
Interesting:
He had a daughter with Julie London and she was killed in a collision with a patrol car!!

We are all out for electing Dennis Richardson for our next Governor...

Yesterday was the first day of school for my two sweet grandchildren, Alex and Jack. Alex is a senior this year and Jack a freshman....  adorable!
..... this one a few years back... like 8 years ago..first day..
Sooooooo cute!!! ♥♥

Historically this date...
1910 – The Great Fire of 1910 (also commonly referred to as the Big Blowup or the Big Burn) occurred in northeast Washington, northern Idaho (the panhandle), and western Montana, burning approximately 3 million acres.
1938Lou Gehrig hits his 23rd career grand slam – a record that still stands.
1986 – In Edmond, Oklahoma, U.S. Postal employee Patrick Sherrill guns down 14 of his co-workers and then commits suicide.
.....hence the term "going postal".

And births this date include a bunch of people, none of which flip my skirt!

Dinner last night was an experiment... Jasmine rice, Thai Red rice, diced tomatoes, Cranberry/Chicken meatballs (Costco), mushrooms, green beans, red bell pepper....
Red wine, chopped onion, garlic, basil.... Oh, and some chicken stock...
Meatballs go into crockpot with tomatoes and spices and wine...turn on high. The meatballs are already cooked, so this was just heating them. Chop veggies...

I cooked the rice, topped with a little of the red rice, in my new rice cooker.

Then added it to the crockpot along with the veggies and let it cook on low for about 1½ hours.....

Plated it and added some tomatoes! YUMMMMMMMMMMMM!

All I know. Happy Tuesday. Thunder showers heading our way. Nuff said. Ciao.

August 20th
National Lemonade Day

National Radio Day

This is the radio I got in 1957.... leather. Put it on the front porch, turned on the music, and used a push mower to mow the lawn.
This is one I have a TV on in my dining room....

National Radio Day celebrates a great invention and communications medium.
The invention of the radio dates back to the late 1800s. A number of inventors played a role in creating this important medium. A number of inventions and discoveries were required to make the radio a reality. This included both transmission and reception methods and technology. The radio somewhat evolved from the telegraph and the telephone, with wireless telegraph directly contributing to its invention.
Celebrating National Radio Day is easy listening. Simply tune into your favorite radio stations(s).

Leave it to you to think about Joe Friday's badge number. I didn't even remember what it was. LOL
Alex and Jack are sure beautiful/handsome kids. They grow up so fast don't they.
Your new rice cooker is really pretty and looks like it did a great job. You didn't cry over not using your old one did you??? Let's see if you donate it, or???? giggle. You could always place it next to the radio. Just kidding!
Your dinner looked absolutely scrumptious, and now you have leftovers. Yeah. Always nice to have when you don't feel like cooking.
Off to start my day, hope yours is grand. ciao for now. xo

Sue,

Didn't follow you even tho I read all about Jack Web on the link. What is special about "417"?

It's great that Kristin takes photos of the kids on the first days of school. Very cute!

Your dinner looked terrific! Funny because John found that identical rice cooker in a cupboard in the garage. We determined that it was Becky's.
Since you create so many dishes I think when you are finished eating them you should write down the recipes for future reference in case you want to make them again.

Tammy, no gave the radio to a nephew a hundred years ago! Too bad about that rice. Hope you find it. Irritated the sales rep never got back to me!! xo

Thanks Jeannie re the kids! As for the rice cooker, it's still in the cupboard and I will have a hard time tossing it out. Memories, you know. I hope your day is good too! xo

Trish, 417 is a radio code for LASD of "man with a gun".
As for the recipes, I don't make the same thing twice generally. LOL Just like to wing it!! xo

Lovely hair and outdoorsy looks- Alex ought to do hair commercials.

If I had to choose- I prefer radio to TV- easier to multi-task- the only thing is - I wonder if there is a rewind button?

Do you cook the rice all the way through before adding to crock pot?

Going to make lemonade.
