Good 56º quite cloudy morning. No more rain predicted, but it will be
cloudy and hot. Swell.
Noon yesterday.... August??? LOL. Ended up with 1/2" of rain.
I took this when Dude and I went down to take the trash to the road. Temps
nice, it was 66º.
The rain apparently slowed some of the fires. The Douglas Co fire up by
Glendale Oregon is 87% contained, burn acres are at 48,679. The fire down here
close to Grants Pass, the Big Windy Fire, is 35% contained, at 28,936
acres.
By 2pm the sky had changed a lot...
Here is a good story sent by Lynn Helbing (LASD ret) about our department
getting some ex-military dogs...
My step-son, Aaron, is now an Amerigas Manager! Whoot! Aaron is working in
Deer Lodge, Montana. He and Marie's home is in Post Falls, Idaho, near Coeur
d'Alene, so he's living in a motorhome for the present. Deer Lodge is about 254
miles from Post Falls, east on I-90. Marie was visiting Aaron and took these
pictures of Mr. Busy (notice second picture...2 phones at once!)
Go Aaron~!!!! ♥
Historically this date...
1920 – The
19th
amendment to United
States Constitution takes effect,
giving women the right to vote.
1942 – Holocaust in Chortkiav,
western Ukraine: At 2.30 am the
German Schutzpolizei starts driving
Jews out of their
houses, divides them into groups of 120, packs them in freight cars and deports
2000 to Belzec death camp. 500 of
the sick and children are murdered on the spot
...............so horrible and disgusting. Too bad a Jewish
man/woman didn't' get the chance to terrorize, brutalize and slowly kill Hitler!
1970 – The
then new feminist movement, led by
Betty
Friedan, leads a nation-wide Women's Strike for Equality.
And
births this date include...
1864 - my
paternal grandmother, Emma Laney
........sadly I never got to meet her...
.........can you say 'drugs' !!!
Yesterday Kristen sent pictures of little Jasper, before and after
at the vet's..... suffering from a stick (or something) that poked his
eye...
He's going to be fine.
Here's an
incredible high quality video of a dolphin asking a scuba diver for help - and
accepting it.
This video is genuinely impressive. It almost brought me to tears to see the Dolphin's trust and dare I say hope?
Thanks to Deeewayne P-berger (LASD ret) for this!

I've had several other dogs,
can't find their photos at the moment ... but we had Spanky and Buckwheat,
Dallas, Brutus, Rufus P Rochester, and Heidi.... Every single one of them were
awesome and loved!
National Dog Day has two goals: to honor
dogs, and to rescue dogs from homelessness and abuse. It's an opportunity for us
to recognize and appreciate the value and importance of dogs in our lives.
This day is intended to honor dogs for
all that they do for us. In addition to giving love and companionship, dogs help
us out in countless ways. They are watchdogs for our safety. They lead the
blind. Dogs aid in search and rescue, and they seek out bombs and drugs.
The second goal of National Dog Day is
to rescue dogs in need. On occasion, dogs need us to save them from homelesness
and abuse. The goal of the National Dog Day foundation is to rescue 10,000 dogs
a year. Lend a hand to help a dog in need today, or any day.
Origin of National Dog Day: National Dog Day was created by the National Dog Day Foundation. Their motto is "Saving 10,000 Dogs - One Day at a Time". President George W. Bush, a dog owner himself, sent a letter to the foundation in support of National Dog Day.

This is so sweet. You've got me thinking about all my dogs now. Love it! Tammy and Gary
Tahoe and Reno are confused. They thought every day is dog day ):- .
They also want to know why they don't have a cart to run around in.
Tammy, share your dogs on FB! xo
L, tell Tahoe and Reno that if they made more money and you had 20 acres they could have a golf cart!
xo
I'm not not taking you anywhere, Kibble on Wheels will be at your place around noon. BP
Won't be here. Going shopping. Thanks for the lunch offer anyway, Mr. Poopy Pants!! xo
