Good 52º few clouds morning.
Not quite awake. Had a really fun evening with some old friends from high
school.... Jerry and Vera Beverman, Ronnie and Sue Loynds, and Terry Leone! Ron
bought a home up here.... vacation home. He still has his business in So. Cal.
Mike Bastian works for Ron and Ron called him so he could talk to me. OMG. Such
fun. Ron's wife Sue is sooooo sweet. She and Vera cooked up a wonderful meal! Terry's
wife passed away a couple of years ago. He also has a son named Brian! I found
out about Ron buying a house up here from my Brian, who just happens to be his
insurance agent! Sue and Vera cooked and cleaned and wouldn't let me do anything
but visit with the guys! Thanks ladies, I had such a good time.
L-R Ron, Terry, duh, Jerry
I found out Ron has a sister who has lived up here for 45 years...... he's
got nephews and great nephews up here. Also, Ron is on the board of directors
for Wildlife Images!
Check this.... the view out Sue's kitchen window....the Rogue River!
A great evening with special people.
Earlier in the day was our monthly Law Enforcement/Fire luncheon (the
reason for my silly shirt!). I had the chef's salad...
We had a couple of new guys join us... Dirty Harry LeVine and Neil &
Flory Ornstein, both ret LASD. Harry worked W. Hollywood and Neil was with
SEB Motors. Everyone had mutual friends. Fun.
This is a TEXAS joke (compliments of Gator, USN
ret)
The Sheriff pulled up
next to the guy unloading garbage out of his pick-up into the ditch. The Sheriff
asked, "Why are you dumping garbage in the ditch? Don't you see that sign right
over your head."
"Yep," he replied.
"That's why I'm dumpin' it here, 'cause it says: 'Fine For Dumping
Garbage.'"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And a
TENNESSEE joke:
A Tennessee
State trooper pulled over a pickup on I-65. The trooper asked, "Got any ID?" The
driver replied, "Bout whut?"
Today is
Mike's brides birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAN CHIPOLLA! I'll have a martini in your
honor. I hope Mike waits on you hand and foot and treats you to all the martinis
you can handle!!
Historically this date... (wow, some horrible destruction and loss of
life on this date!)
1981 – Bihar train
disaster: a passenger train traveling between Mansi and Saharsa, India, jumps the tracks at a
however, it is generally believed that the actual figure is closer to 1,000
killed.
(HA! Not in Washington, Colorado, or soon to be Oregon! Good grief! Pot heads
All I
Love the jokes!!!! Very cute! That view out the window is amazing. I want to move there!!! Love t and g
The view is great. One reason why Sue wanted that house! xo
GOOD wildlife site. Thanks for the link. I was thinking that LOTS of bad stuff happened on this date in history- then I divided the number of incidents by the number of times this date has happened- and the odds are pretty good that it will be uneventful):-
Yes, that view is awesome! Love it! Wish you had gotten a photo of the house.
That Gator joke reminded me of another southern joke.
An older guy was being chased by a state trooper. They went on a high speed chase for a long time. He finally got tired and pulled over. The trooper asked him why in the world he was running. The old guy said "Well, a few years back my wife ran off with a trooper and I thought it was him bringing her back"! lol
Your salad looked yummy. You had a good day of eats but then you always do. :)
